Final gear ratio llss? February 16, 2012 02:25AM
Building a Diesel LLSS and curious what's a good final gear ratio to shoot for. Looking to have 3 pulling gears to choose from and will be running at both 6000lb and 6500lbs. 466 with a 3 x 4 charger, head work, good cam, water, all the goodies. Thanks for the help!!!

ratio depends on type of tracks, 18:1 pretty optimistic on real clay tracks,19-20-21 better choice if your making atleast 1000hp. and pulling on good clay tracks not sandy loams.

I have a 21-1 and have never used it . I use a 20-1 sometimes but mostly I use a 19-1
