Has anyone ever drilled holes in a stock JD 4020 brake disc ? If so , how many and what size hole. It seems like my brakes aren't as good as they should be. Thought maybe a few holes would remove some oil and help the brakes grab harder.

If you are running the stock wet brakes do not do it. i tried it once the holes shredded the pads and it was a heck of a mess to clean up.

Have you checked the brakes? Maybe they are shot. If pads are shot, they won't hold worth a darn.

I am curious what size hole you drilled and how many ?

The brakes are bled well and the pads aren't new but in good condition.

it has been several years ago, 3/8 hole probably 60 holes or so. i would not do it.

Had considered 5/16 holes maybe 8 to 12. We won't do it.

NO, but it would help to NOT having to use the brakes as much. Do you understand that?

It helps all the way around. it will not take as much brake to guide it and also makes it go much straighter. Money well spent.
