Superstock tractors November 29, 2012 04:26PM
Question for SuperStock tractor pullers. With the current directions of ss classes with component chassis and more and more alky burners and greater dollars being spent on the local level , will there be a need for a Classic SuperStock class(for lack of a better name).basically an under 500cid class, twin charger,ag chassis only,30s, possibly even 540cid with a 4.1 also to fit same nitch. Basically following the same lines that has made LLSS so successful. There will soon be a lot of obsolete tractors who can't afford these current trends of $100,000-150,000 tractors for state level classes?Just a thought, wondering what other PULLERS think?

Will never happen, the best you can do is good change to a class that you can afford

Re: Superstock tractors November 29, 2012 11:45PM
The class is already out there (LLSS) if you cant run with the big boys build for another class, no need to start ANOTHER class with different rules to fit a few tractors out there.

In LSS there needs to be some agenda items submitted for making considerations for the Diesel guys so they can be competitive on the Grand National Level and other levels as well. This is going to hurt this class even more if it stays all alcohol...Not only because the fans would like to see the diesels competing with the alky guys in the class, but also because they are very short on tractors period!

It may be too late in the HSS as there are some places like WI that has their own Diesel only HSS class. My opinion is that this is not a good idea, as there is just not enough tractors to go around as it is...Now the HSS class where alky and diesel can run together is really suffering also.

Back in the 90's if something would have been done to keep the Diesel Super guys competitive against the alcohol tractors and not going on their own, these classes may be in a better situation now.

Regarding LSS there are a few easy things that can be done to make this happen...If AV and some others would like to get something rolling to try and make this happen for next year, I am on board to help. Let's talk

Theoretically it would not be starting a new class, just giving the older ag chassis type tractors a place to be competitive with each other, either that or they will just die out and the current super classes will still just end up with lesser numbers. Like it or not it is a money driven sport. The LLSS is for smaller tractors,(the LIMITED part makes it affordable to the average Joe) this class would be oriented for the 66/40/d21s/9600 fords ect. There are a lot of these around the country either sitting or not very competitive. Don't misunderstand we all like the new generation stuff, just saying there could be a place for the rest to still exist and be competitive and affordable!

Did the Interstate Limited Superstock and ModFarm / Lmt. pro class work together? Curious as to what the results were when they ran together.

466 cube tractors beat out SS tractors?? Hows that happen??? What charger, pump?

Re: Superstock tractors December 04, 2012 03:36PM
Lt Limited 466 3x4 and A pump with Intercooler. Supers are 540 max, 2 charger, no Sigma. Granted now the Supers have to struggle on the track while the Lt Lim make an awesome pass. Doesn't happen often. I think some Mod Turbo tractors have run the class too and fared well. Mod Turbo tractors are 540 A pump and spin whatever size turbo you can :-)

Some of these Mod Turbo & Lt Limited's will be at Gordyville in 2013 and just about all of them at the 2013 Keystone Natls.

Welcome to the good old boy East Coast Series, where we will ban you if you beat us and still make a class where we should win, but won't. A 466 3x4 with an almighty inter cooler vs a 2 charger p pump super stock. That must be some magic inter cooler, or AGAIN those must be some pretty lame ECS tractors.

This is the place where you can build a tractor that is not legal in any other portion of this country (4 valve oem head pro stock), but you can't run a 3 charger 650cui BBJD super stock.

Go frickin figure.

Limited SS is not an East Coast class nor are the other 2 classes I mentioned in my previous post.
