Does it need to be stainless? or can it be mild steel? |

I would NEVER use steel for an alky tank. If not stainless, a good grade of aluminum. I would seriously consider stainless. Just my opinion. |

I would never use aluminum for methonol, stainless or plastic only. All aluminum fittings need to be anodized to stop from corrosion. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 03/01/2013 01:46PM by BigDave. |

We have never had any problem with any of our aluminum fuel tanks. I agree a steel tank is not a good idea. |

You can use aluminum, but it's a good idea to drain all the Methanol out after a race/pull day. The methanol will eat the aluminum, and you end up with aluminum bits plugging fuel filters. Plastic is best. |
