superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 12:18PM
I have money spent on 619/640 cubes for are superfarm are rules have always been ntpa followed
And now are club is thinkn on letting all motors 540 and below run 3/4 or slotted 3/3 chargers should i be concerned? I think so
Im kinda upset i feel like its not fair now with money spent idnt feel like finishing my tractor for 2014 debut

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 12:24PM
My thoughts are this a good 540 with a good 3by4 will be hard to handle.

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 12:55PM
Its not a good idea for a club it could be a disaster and them 540 guys they can get alot of life out of their motor but if they go do that everything is turn faster harder they will find out mayb not but either way in my eyes mismatch classes dnt mesh very well or long

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 01:06PM
Well i mean i c their point on maybe getting more tractors

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 01:25PM
If one runs 3/4s let them all run 3/4turbos
Stop picking on big cubes
Thats the problem with superfarm
Ntpa should allow 3/4 for superfarm come on vote yes

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 08, 2013 01:17PM
How many will they loose plain and simple build a 600 or bigger like every1else if u cant afford you ll get their u can get a 540 running pretty good as it is
If they do that it opens the door for alot more cheating
If my club did that id stay home or cheat cheat cheat

It seems to me that each time rules are changed it cost everyone money, but if you have a rule that allows more pullers you can make your choice and go with what you think will be better for you. I personally think that if Pro Stock tractors were limited to smaller cubes it would be more than a few red and mainly green I watched a pull on tv today and the 660 cube limit has it so there was one Allis 2 maybe 3 Case or IH and maybe 2or 3 small block Deere 14 big block DeereYawning

Im all for more tractors and colors but iguess what s a better fix for the problem in superfarm 3/3 slotted or 3/4 for 540 and below

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 09, 2013 05:31AM
I think the issue arising is that light pro and limited pro are taking off. A lot of superfarm pullers are jumping into those classes. And in a lot of areas 466 classes are really picking up steam.

Now for an organization the Superfarm name is an easy sell still to a promoter because it always has been that stable numbers class that blows smoke and fans and promoters like that.

Now organizations are looking at some numbers issues as it sits to sell the same named product but with a little less of a value.

Superfarm as we have known it is going to change. And areas offering state classes will have to decide if there is enough supply for 540 class and 640 class or what works to combine the available pool of tractors.

Which that isn't easy as neither side of the coin wants to to go pulling at a disadvantage because of rules. Will you even get a 540 guy and 640 guy to always agree that they are on a level playing field??? It really comes down to what rules can you make to sell the pool of tractors you have available so you have a place to go pulling all summer.

If your organization can stand alone on a 640 cube super farm class then I would make the rules that way and 540 guys can pull under cubed. But if you need the help of more numbers and 540 guys will fill that void then some give and take will have to happen to make it a successful product.

Just curious here, how would/does SF and 466 3x4 compare? Are they at all comparable at the same weight?

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 18, 2013 01:23PM
So where is this class you are talking about. Sounds like could be a good one with lots of iron and color. What association are you with? Very interesting!

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 09, 2013 07:17AM
Are they going to run heads up? The local club here is thinking of doing a SF/Light PS combo type class and maybe even some 466 in there but I think they are looking at different weight for different combos.

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 09, 2013 12:31PM
The 3x3 turbo limits the 640 engine potential
on a 466 the RPM is the advantage

466 on a 3x3 can compete with a 640 3x3

You can nay say all you want that im wrong but I have proved it.

It still comes down to tuning and the right combination

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 09, 2013 02:05PM
you are correct we ran a 540 3x3 and could run with any 640 3x3-- we had to run a slower gear but could turn 1000rpms more at any point on the track-- on really hard hooking power tracks we would get beat but on a loose track watch out. I know a 540 with a 3x4 will out run a 640 3x3 even on a power track

Re: superfarm 540 vs 640 December 09, 2013 11:35PM
Let's think about this... Sorry but your super farm class is dieing off too the limited pro and light pro classes. So this might be a chance to bring in some more tractors in the class. Which engine combo is going to out perform. My opinion is let a few 540 with 3x4 run the super farm class. I can tell u this... Look out east. They run super farms with limited pros (a-pump, unlimited turbo) that class is balanced very well. I do have a 540 with 3x4, would I hook it with the super farms?.... Sure another place to hook and have some fun. That's why we do this is to have fun.

A 466 can occasionally compete with a 640 in a 3x3 class, but it will not consistently stay on top and what have you proved did you win a championship or just do well at one hook? It’s one thing to go out and finish top three in a class of ten+ it’s another to finish top three once and a while in a smaller class. I have yet to see a small cube tractor do well consistently in a big cube class. I could see being 600 or a top notch 540 doing ok but not a 466.
