Is it worth the trouble to have the tops of a farm stock 400 series IH pulling engine ceramic coated? Thanks. |

If you run good enough you will be on the edge of meltdown. I have seen very high exhaust temperatures on a farm stock with no water. Melted many pistons this way. Coated this pistons, problem solved. |

Ran a dry block for 6 years sf and 1 1/2 years lim pro wit coated pistons. Run 5 gallon 50w shell oil wit 1 gallon Lucas oil stabilizer. Pistons look like they were put in yesterday. We are believers in the coating. Parts guy asked us if we really wanted new pistons. |

Try Swain coatings in Ny. Very reasonable |

A person should really considers 3-stage coating process when dealing with pistons. Ceramic coating the tops will help reflect heat away from the piston. This helps to enhance combustion efficiency. The nest step is to dry film lube the skirts, thus reducing friction. Last step is to oil shed coat the bottom underside. This aids in shedding hot oil, which allows the pistons to cool off moe efficiently.
This describes in basic terms how 3-stage coating work to improve overall performance. I would be glad to talk with anybody about details and other beneficial coatings. Email or call jmobley@high-rev.com (731)574-1128 Thanks, Joshua Mobley High-Rev Technology |

It's cheap insurance for any performance application exposed to elevated cylinder temps / pressures, particularly turbo, supercharged or NOS applications..... If it doesn't break your budget, its well worth it...... Typically you'll ceramic coat the dome and dry film the skirt like below. |
