Would a profab 3 speed wrk in a ford 5000 trans. Or is a stock trans able to hold up to llss alky |

yes a profab will work i know guys putting them in 4000 trans too |

A profab will work. A stock transmission can be made to work also. solid input shaft ,1/2 gears in the back. A new solid mainshaft with changeable ,custom ratio 3rd gear set and a billet front cover. |

Atlas tractor has a few of them out and running and had a few more ford housings in the shop getting ready to drop in a tranny. Give Karl a call I bet you will get it faster than calling Larry. |

Just out of curiosity what engine do you plan on using? I couldn't tell you how well a 5000 will do in pulling but from the experience my family had farming with one it will be an experience. |

I'm planning on using a 401 turbo with a p pump etc somewhere around 5-600 hp |

Closer to triple that figure. and yes the stock transmission will hold up |
