What Engines have 4 cyl Bosch A or P pump? March 31, 2014 04:06AM
I'm putting together 4 cyl mini diesel 2.2 isuzu diesel.
Looks like I could put an A or P pump Bosch 4 cyl on it. Like to know what engines use these pumps, as you can tell it is a small budget i am working with.
I 've read over in Europe they use an A pump with 9.5 mm plunger setup. Would like this or bigger. Thanks for the help. Remember I'm looking for 4 cyl models.

There is a Cummins 4 that I believe came with both A & P pumps. I believe the engine is a 4 cylinder version of the 5.9 & one application was bread trucks.

Most of the 3.9L 4BT's in the bread trucks were 105 hp and had a Bosch VE pump. There was a 4BTA used in some of the later retrofits that was 120 hp (I think) and had a Bosch inline, not sure if it was A or P. There are also numerous ag/industrial/irrigation applications for this engine, so don't overlook those in your search.

I used to work for WonderBread/Hostess and most of them had the 4BT Cummins with a VE Rotary pump but some of the newer models had a P pump and intercooler. Case skid loaders also had the 4BT starting with the 1840 Model but I don't know what pump they used. Lots of construction equipment had the 4BT Cummins. I think that Patches is also correct about the 4 cyl Case engines using an A pump.

correct the 770 &870 use the A pump the 870 has larger plungers.

I have a 2.2 Isuzu diesel engine out of a thermo king that I put in a old bobcat. I thought it had a bosch A pump on it . It looked like one.

deutz used the botch inlines david browns were like the fords. Some of the case and the mistubushi engines used in cat euq had the botch ] and if you find some of the jap engines had a nikiki pump that was a copy from a botch

The CaseIH 4391TA irrigation power units (basically a 4 cylinder Cummins) came with a Bosch A pump. Most Case equipment applications that used the 336BD engine used a 4 cylinder A pump, W14 payloaders use the 336 a lot.

I will look tomorrow. We have many reefers, i thought i remember seeing a bosch inline on one. I am building a mini as well and had a TK pump punched out from 4.8 to8.2 plungers. Engine is mostly all done.

Noticed on a friend's Bobcat (T170?) has an inline pump. Assuming it was a A or P pump.

got a 4 cylinder Mercedes engine in the shed looks like a p pump only has 4 holes though, I know somebody needs this thing 250.00 for the pump or 400.00 for the whole motor.

Check e-bay 4cyl p's on there. If you can fit a P, dont bother with an A my .$.02
