amsoil no doubt. full synthetic top of the line. haven't used the lucas but i've ran the amsoil for the past 2 years and pulled oil samples. its held up well vs brad penn which i had ran years prior. i had pushrod and rocker problems 3 out of 4 companies and builders i talked to pointed me toward the amsoil. i've had happy parts ever since. |

Went from valvoline to Maxima rs1040 great oil. My engine builder Steve Vance highly recommended it . Been using past few seasons no problems what so ever. We really turn our big block high rpms (9000-9400)! And won't cost u a fortune like some oils. |

truck guy,
We have used AMSOIL Dominator RD60, 60 weight synthetic racing oil in our pro stock tractor Hurricane Allis for three seasons now. The previous two seasons we used AMSOIL AHR 60 weight racing oil (before RD60 was introduced). Our parts have lasted much longer and show much less wear since we switched to AMSOIL in 2010. It is also amazing how clean (none of the "snot" inside valve cover) the inside of our motor is since we switched. The oil pressure consistency from cold to hot operating temps and the heat transfer characteristics of AMSOIL are second to none. Previous oils we used were Red Line, Brad Penn, and Cen-Pe-Co. We still use Brad Penn to break in new motors. We also use AMSOIL 75W90 Severe Gear Lube in the tractor's Pro-Fab and SQHD rear end. I have some pro stock customers using AMSOIL Dominator RD50, 15W50 racing oil with similar results to what we are seeing. I am an independent AMSOIL dealer so feel free to contact me if you have any questions. You won't be disappointed if you decide to try AMSOIL products in your puller. Thank you, Todd Domann tadomann@yahoo.com 913-433-4826 |

How would amsoil be in a dry block diesel where a lot of heat occurs. I was told the cenpeco racing 20w50 was the best in high heat situations due to the wax content and zinc.???? |

We ran Schaeffers in the LSS diesel with water and had real good luck ran same rod and mains all year with on trouble. Tom M. is running it in a dry block diesel and so far it has held well as far as I can tell Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/08/2015 04:46AM by Frantic crew. |

Does anyone run Schaeffers oil in pullers? Ive been using their grease, chain lube, and Pentro 90 for the last few years on all the machinery and use thier 15-40 in the semis. Have had good luck with it but I dont hear of much being used in pullers |

We run Kendall GT/1 with liquid titanium 50W in our dry block 4.1. After 37 passes bearings still look new and we leave as hard as anybody. We change it every 3 runs. I also ran it in our old dry block pro- field motor. Over 100 passes on one set of bearings. |

Sounds like the verdict is in!
Use a good oil. Lots to choose from. Just don't drink the Kool-Aid! |
