I'm looking for any good info on 8 cyl simms pump I
need more fuel approximately 400cc can it be done and who.Does anyone have a good p pump for sale? 640 perkins thanks Bryan in ohio

i had a simms pump on my 1150 and i had scheid do the pump and i think that it had more than 400ccs but i also didnt have any governor so it idled very irradic at like 1500 rpms but that tractor ran like a son of a b-tch so u can try them or i also had a p pump done at columbus and that worked really well but you can get some good fuel out of the simms but u mught even want to try a bosch a pump might be cheaper that route good luck

I think you will want more fuel than that for that big of an engine. What turbo are you going to run? You could try wimers fuel injection in PA.

i would definately call columbus diesel then and get the pump rebuilt and get bigger barrels and plungers i ran 3000rpm with my 1150 but i had a ton of fuel and a large turbo i was running a mack turbo off of a 400 mack get your injectors done i got lazer tipped injectors and get your pump opened up a little if your tractor is the one on youtube i have seen it run the barnyard bandit and that thing runs great and u dont even smoke yet so if you get some more fuel to that thing your gonna be flyin!good luck

Call John Jones at Odon Machine & Manufacturing. (812) 636-7781. John has specialized for years in high performance V8 Perkins parts, Simms pumps and custom turbos. He has an in house pump shop, flow bench and builds his own barrels, plungers, custom EDM injector tips and regrinds pump cams.

one thing to keep in mind when saying how much fuel you need, this is an 8 cylinder 640 cid, not 6 cylinder, so less fuel is actually needed.

Wimers is the only place to call for a Simms. They sell 12 mm simms, 800+ cc fuel, been doing them for a long time.

Ford guy, If he's running a 640 Perkins at 3,000 RPM, bbailey doesn't need an 800 cc Wimer pump. Injectionpumped is right, you have less cu.ins.per cylinder and @ 3,000 RPM with an S300 turbo, he won't need more than 350 to 400 cc's. I guess if he wants to drown it out, then an 800 cc pump would be what he wants.
