stock case tractor September 04, 2015 01:14PM
Looking for opinions I want to get a stock case farm tractor to pull from 9500 lbs and up, any ideas or suggestions?

Re: stock case tractor September 07, 2015 02:50PM
Get an 8 speed. No powershift. That means a 930, 1030, Some 970s and 1070s, or an 1175. 1175 is heavy. I just happen to have a straight stock 1030 for sale. Should be a bit under 9500lbs with no weights.

wilkca 504 bolt into that?

Re: stock case tractor September 10, 2015 05:17AM
Your best going with a 1175. The 504 bolts right in, comes with an A Pump and straight 8 speed. They are heavy but if you go to the stamped steel wheels you can get it well under 12000 and have weight to move around.

i was thinking about a 1370 the motor sits out 12" further than the other 70 series, any advantages? I was looking at 11,500to 16,000 lb class

Just bought a 1370 today. They are a heavy pig, and the power shift is not a good idea for a puller. Would last forever in the field if maintained right, but you'll not be happy with it in a puller.

did they make a 1370 gear drive?

Re: stock case tractor September 12, 2015 05:21PM
No all 1370 are power shift

Think I could hide an Oliver over under shift inside a gutted case-o-matic tube all in front of an eight speed rearend?
I have heard the over under can be made to hold a lot of hp.

Bump power shift pressure up to 350 psi and you will have NO problems!

Re: stock case tractor September 13, 2015 06:49AM
how do you bump up power shift pressure? What would that do?

Re: stock case tractor September 13, 2015 07:34AM
You don't want the power shift to slip. Kinda like a shift kit, it will hold better under higher power. You do not want the torque limiters to slip and warp. If you don't know how to turn up the pressure then take it to a dealer and they can put gauges on it and shim it till you get to 350 psi.

use a 2090 or 2290 rearend with an 8 spd. transmission then
