Karl will be able to help you put together something that will run open rpm or over 3500 or so. Anything that I have seen from Karl outside of that kind of falls short when compared to the IH or Deere on the same playing field.
Some one needs to look at the size and shape of a Case cylinder head. The cross section of intake and exhaust is proportionately HUGE compared to related other colors. The ports are too big and are poorly shaped. Find the guy with a flow bench and that is willing to fill the ports and speed the air up and direct the swirl where it needs to be. That is the guy you are looking for. The potential is there, someone needs to step outside the box and work in that direction. |

We can do the work to heads. But do not have the knowledge for what it takes to make it work. And do not have anyone local that does. |

I have been happy with Chuck Lewis.
He has done both my 451 and 504. He does some big name heads and they consistently perform. Chucks Cylinder Heads 812-325-4518 |

Chuck has done a lot of heads, very smart guy, would recommend him for any kind of head work |
Re: Case heads

stock 504 heads have very big ports with lots of swirl. they need to be ported in order to get flow for bigger cubes. if the cubes are smaller the ports should be tightened up |

For a 3000rpm 504 what do you reccommend? |

Case 3000 puller
|
504 3000rpm with a 3x3 all you need is a real good valve job don't do any port work at all. If you are running a small charger like a 3lm you can get by with the same head but it does benefit from closing the intake ports down some just be sure to take it to someone that is reputable and knows what they are doing. Case actually has a real good head for 3000 rpm if you are running a good charger. We make a lot of power with one. |

hoyts in the pa area, haugs in Kansas if I was really wanting a case I would talk to all of them for ideas. |
Re: Case heads

Karl Kahn can't be the only person in the United States the knows how to build a case . I have heard a lot of good things that he has done with a case . But there has to be a lot of different ideas out there on how to make a case run at 3000 rpms and hang in there till 1800rpms or so . |
