looking to stroke a 301 this winter, looking for some ideas want to go 5" or a little under.whats a safe bore I can go to? and how much do I have to grind at 5"? what pistons will work with my rods? thanks for any input.

Floyd might think you are talking about the IH 301, and probably thinks that the Red Diamond series would be a better option for cubic inches. I'm guessing you are referring to an Allis 301 Diesel? 301 doesn't give enough info for the guys who may have suggestions for you.
