llss chassis prep- bull pinion shaft question? January 01, 2016 06:08AM
Looks to me like a 560 chassis with its roughly 18.4:1 final drive ratio would work quite well for a diesel llss. After the usual suspects are addressed- Billit one piece input shaft and billit carrier, what else is recommended? Someone mentioned in a previous post that a guy would need a set of bull pinion shafts----- Why? Are there other carriers that can be machined into the 560? Perhaps the 706 carrier? Is there a need to swap out the side gears in the 560 case for a set with larger splines? Anyone out there with time to enlighten me as to what guys arr doing to toughen these up?
