560 engine build January 10, 2016 09:03AM
well I screwed up my first time on this site and can't figure out the fix, posted this already on the wrong spot. Looking to get a little more power out of a 560 gas and looking for any and all suggestions. Wanting to stay stock stroke. If I run the 263 without sleeves what is a good suggestion for pistons? I've read about silver diamond heads but not familiar with them, will they bolt to the 263 block? If so, what else will need changed to use the head? What is the difference in that head verses the stock head and what is it going to do for engine performance? Who is a good suggestion to get a good cam job from? Thanks for any help.

Go with 466 chevy big block high dome pistons. You will have to cut valve reliefs. But you can use stock connecting rods just have to machine them narrower on piston side. Make it like 320 cubes

He meant 366 chevy pistons. I have the silver diamond head. Just pulled it of my SD240 engine this weekend. It will bolt right on. Have rocker stands, tappets, head bolts, pushrods and valve cover included. $1,000 delivered. 608-317-7321.
