Used 3/16 when we built one. Have not noticed any ill effects. Seen a few others use the same. |

Have you had any problems with the 3/16"? Not sure whether to go with 3/16" or 1/4", it will be going on a Case 1070. JD4430 what did you end up using? Thanks |

I used 3/16 on mine as well. I've taken a wild ride on it and broke a spindle. Tractor is 8500 and 1000ish for power. It is 3 season old and I've not found any issues with it yet for strength and integrity. |

We have made some changes over the years which has cause a bit of tweaking and some wild rides. But it’s still holding up well. No bends or problems yet. Ran 4 seasons so far. |

I have some 1/4 inch aluminum C channel if you want to save weight, also have some 1 inch flat stock to make ends for them |
