DT466 head March 17, 2016 03:47PM
I know the 426 head is the go to head in stock form but is there a better head to be porting? Have a "+" head here also. Trying to decide what to put on the 466 going into a 2.8 farm stock tractor. Also is there any difference between an xxxxxx426 C1 and an xxxxxxxx426 C2? I have both, and don't know which route to go. Plus, 426 C1, or 426 C2

Off topic, but I have a hypermax recasted head with stock dimensions that I would let go. It is a dry head. Ran it on my to hot to farm tractor. 6 passes since new valves, guides and 140# springs. If interested, call or text 608-317-7321.

typically the + head is used for porting for your type of application.

833 is preferred for porting over the 426. C2 castings have more material than C1 castings in critical areas that were prone to cracking, but port configuration is same.
