4010 LLPS May 27, 2009 03:12AM
Does anyone run a 4010 chasis in LLPS at 6000lbs. Can I make this weight class?

Depends upon how hard you want to work at it. I've seen them at 5500 in the old days before cages, so I'd say it can be done.

We have a 350 cube limit so I have a 329 that I want to transplant, with a tube frame and tube front axle common sense says it shouldn't be a problem,,,,but sometimes my common sense gets lost in the shuffle.

What about a 4030, the bellhousings would be the same for the 329 engine, unless in the 4010 you are building a component with a different way to mount engine, transmission, rear end.

If you're going with the 329 a 4030 or 2840/2940 would be lighter than the 4010. It should bolt right up to a 2630/2640 rear too or using the plate from a 2510 to that rear or even the 3010/3020. Getting gears & such for any of these will require a little more searching than the 4010 though.

Deere Puller---Do you know if anyone has tried this combination?

I don't know of many who have had more success with that engine than Mike Savey did with the canadian mist 2, I would think the 4010 would be plenty lite for this especially with the lighter engine. The only con I can think of is the intake on that engine. With the adaptor plate from a 4030 u almost have the same tractor.
