IH rear end with cummins engine September 01, 2016 01:24PM
was wondering if an 8.3L cummins (out of a magnum) with bolt to a 06-86 IH rear end. how much work does it take if any and what is the price other than the engine and rear end themselves.

Head down to your local CNH dealership and take a look in their shop. I'm sure you'll find a 7110 type travel tor split in half. Sure looks like the same rear as the 88 series with a 8.3 cummins in front of it.......

Call Leaman tractor, pretty sure he was making them.

If you have a magnum back plate they will bolt right up to bell housing. Frame rails will need to be modified a little. A magnum bell housing and 66,86,and 50 series tractors all have the same bolt pattern.

What do you do for a clutch ? I'm assuming the magnum doesn't have the same input an ipto shaft as 66 series. Thanks in advance
