4430 John Deere Pulling
|
I have a 4430 Q/R that I am wanting to do some farm stock pulling with. I have been kicking around the idea of putting 7.6L manifolds on it and a larger turbo on it combined with some pump work. Can anybody shed some light on what all would work well to get some noticeable HP gains? I remember hearing that a larger JD tractor turbo would bolt on, as well as some 7520 injectors or something along those lines. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a heavy duty wet clutch and other misc 4430 trans parts on the shelf. We updated our 4430 to a dry clutch and ProFab gears. Make me an offer. |

I know you are talking about building power but some have talked about clutches. We run a Roush (spelling) wet clutch on an enhanced farm. It's a big project to put a dry clutch in a wet clutch tractor. We've had no issues with the clutch but did break the input shaft which took out some gears. We put a billet input shaft in and now will see where the next weak spot might be. I hope there isn't one.
I think you're on the right track with pump and turbo. Larger injection lines help too. Timing is an issue and will need to be fine tuned once you get more fuel. This site is very helpful but the best thing you can do is talk to some one who builds JD pullers. I don't know your location so I can't help you there. Good luck and have FUN ! |

Jd43, how much power are you making? Is it synchro or quad range? Joe Busch ag repair may be able to help out on a wet clutch. |

Never been dyno'ed but was told when you snap an input shaft you're north of 800. |
