Historical Allis SS question May 14, 2018 02:30PM
Trying to think of as many AC 220 or 210 SS tractors throughout the history of the sport. Any help on ones I missed is appreciated.

Gord Oughtred from Canada ran a 220 in the early 70s.
Al Arnold, Jim Grove (think that's his name from Hillsboro, OH), and Leon Haney ran 220s.

John Lancaster was the most famous 210. Jim Dean, Doug Huffman (may have been Dean's old tractor), John Tentis ran 210s. Cannot remember if Noble Harrison ran a 210 or 220.

I can remember a broadcast of the 15000 SS from Louisville when I was young and I believe there may have been a guy from KY they showed on a 220 but I never heard of him before or since. Also saw a post on a Facebook group that referenced a 220 from Illinois in the early 70s but I was not familiar with the puller and cannot remember his name.

Were there any other 220 or 210 SS tractors in the history if the sport? Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the Iron Horse that Prible pulled, is Huffman's tractor, and that it was formerly Jim Dean's tractor.

Think Jerry Hawkins from KY was the 220 you refer to at Louisville

From May 2015 "the PULLER", "Legends" story about Noble and N.D. Harrison:
"N.D. does not recall where the D-21, their first pulling tractor went to. The second tractor was a 220 pulled during ’71 and ’72 and was bought by Brad Howell from Greentown, Indiana."

Dave Best, Hartsville, IN: "One of the Best" 220 PS. He is included in the upcoming "Legends" story about the Bobb Bros. A-C team.
