Patches I'm with you, I've watched a ton of the old LSS stuff like many of you and they look like they are in two different worlds. It would be interesting to see them at 6000, modern tires, and today's sleds to see the visible difference however. Bryan Lively - |

Only speaking for one brand but the Deutz of Koeneke's that my dad built back in the early 80's won WTPA points in 86 and 87I do believe. That was a three charge set up and the trasmission out of that was once in our LLSS back in the early 2000's.The fastest gear in that trans is now our pit gear.I'm sure Stauffer ran harder yet but this is just one example.Thats diesel for diesel tho. |

A well known DSS puller told me that my LLSS has more power than they had in the early 80'ies. Just shows what new turbos, cams, and etc. can do. |

I don't know what they're running now but about 3 years ago one of the better runners told me the competitive ones were all 1400+hp. |

I owned the old Fowl play Cockshutt which pulled at the National Farm Machinery show a couple times two turbos 5500 pounds in a 28 to one gear. Tim Fox owns Billy Longs old 560 that was a tuff one to handle 28 to one now every one is running from 20 to 23 to 1 diesles are 17 to 19 .The horse power of the Alcohol tractors thats been dynoed that i no of is between 1250 to 1380 the diesles are between 1300 and 1500 depending on if you can run a 3.6 turbo the sleds were a lot harder to pull then but i believe the middle of the pack llss todays tractor would have been on top just my opinion |

From my previous comment above, when i was at Lainesville back in 07 or 08 i was still at 301cu with a HX60 an Mr. Volland was very impressed with the way we were all running. |
