We pull an 1850 with a 5.9 Cummins with a straight shaft.
We need a gear in between 5th and 6th, what would you recommend, BTW I do not want to loose 5th or 6th gear. We load onto a deckover trailer, so I need to have a gear for loading. Thanks Rich |

You may have an issue. Best I know to tell you, is to actually replace 4th Gear. And the reason for that is because you want to keep 5th and 6th. Plus, you can’t easily switch out 5th gear in an Oliver transmission because it’s on the low end side and 3rd Gear actually goes inside of 5th to turn it. So that leaves 4th to be your only real replacement gear. Your only other option would be to run a hydra-power, which you’d have re-configure the straight shaft.
Others may have other options but that’s the only thing I can think of... |

You can take low range out and replace it with another high range theres several different high range RANGE OPTIONS THAT WILL FIT THE 1850 |

Good call Lewis. I never even thought of that. I was thinking of just doing one gear but that’s a good point. You’d have lots of options then. Might be a bit expensive tho. But such is pulling.... |

Its not to exspescive you machine down the low range gears then boor the high range set press the low range centers in and weld them one set i think was a 31 on top and a32 on bottom swap them around using the low range centers 32 on top and 31 on bottom you just made 4 speeds close together some sets are two teeth off 1750 to 2150 will interchange along with the 105s and 150s lots of options call Mabock tractor Brad knows everyone of them and is real reasonable Ive done two |
