What all needs to be done to get a 706 to 6500lbs with 18,4x38 tire a 2 bar cage and tube chassis |
Re: Make a 706 lite

I don't believe you can get a 706 that light. I have a 706 with, with aftermarket frame and all the hydraulics taken off of it, has 20.8 radial double cuts on it and it weighs I think like #7,140. |

It can be done with ALOT of work. Jason Yakey in Northern IL, got a 706 rear with a DT466, alcohol w/ 2 chargers, 2 bar and 30.5's down to 6000# with moveable weight. Carbon Fiber covers, lightened bull gears, etc, etc,. It is just a personal decision on how hard you want to work at it and how many $'s you are willing to spend. |

If your going to build a tractor pick the class you want to pull ,Then pick the chassis that SHOULD hold up to the class you want to pull with the Most movable weight all the horse power in the world aint worth a crap if youve not got enough weight to put it where it needs to go weight is leverage |

Thats light a 560 may not hold up to that 505.But it will hold up to the 6500 light hot farm how much cash would it cost to get all that grinding done when the whole running 560 can be picked up for around 1500 bucks you guys proof that some of these classes dont have to be so heavy |
Re: Make a 706 lite

Sorry Lewis
|
A 560 will not hold up to a light hot farm with a 466 in it. |
Re: Make a 706 lite

Theres 5 light hot farms here using the 560 with a 466 all the IH llss are using the 560 or the 656 ,The light hot farm makes maybe 600 horse the llss makes 1300 to 1400 so i do believe they will hold up |

A 560 rearend will hold 1000 hp. I have had my motor on the dyno so I know the numbers. |
Re: Make a 706 lite

sorry lewis
|
Well Lewis first your assumption of the horsepower the light hot farms are making is well short. Second it is easier to hold the rear together in the llss than it is the light hot farm. Care to guess why? Also the proposed rule changes in light hot farm will be the death of the 560 in that class and if someone does build a light 706 to run in that class no other red tractor will be able to compete with it without going to a 706 themselves. This class should have had a 360 limit. |

I run a 560 rearend pushing a lot of horsepower. I run a dt 360 at 3000rpm with inner cooler and 18.4-38 tires. I haven't had any problems in the last 5 years with it. |

What are the differences in a 656 and 560 rear. |
Re: Make a 706 lite

LEWIS

Th e 656 has a little bigger ring and pinion and bull gears and the carrier is stronger but use the same small transmision as the 460 with the smaller bell housing ,The 560 has the bigger bell housing and transmission the carrier is the week link MAYBE the light hot farm needs to go componet the Sorry Lewis guy should no ,The aurther spot on the heading is for your name not an apology |
Re: Make a 706 lite

your name

Nah Lewis, no components necessary. Maximum 360 cubes and 6000 lbs or less would be the ideal solution. Osage outlaw gave a good case in point above |

.....what a great idea....another class built around a red tractor ci size. ![]() |

Doesn’t Deere have a 359 engine? That sounds awfully close to the 360 International. |
Re: Make a 706 lite

another red class.....
|
Yes, they sure do. Ever tried to work with one? good luck with those pencil injectors and obsolete diesel pump. And that cast into the head intake manifold sure is friendly...
But there a plenty of other options aside from green that aren't likely able to compete with the 360 either so what does it matter. |

I dont no were you guys pull at is there a rule against de stroking KY rules allow for any engine in any chassis and i think any sheet metal may be wrong paint the 360 green and go for it, that is a good rule to add color to any class ,I agree with the 360 cube limit and 6000 or less weight or i would agree to being a 470 cube limit But not trying to make rules to fit two different limits that will never work one set of rules for all the class JD and IH were not created equel |

In Missouri state there are a duetz,Massey, allis, white,IH and occasional John Deere. The 5.9 Cummins work well in this class along with the Dt 360. We had 7 different winners this year. |

Isn't the Moline with 5.9 cummins holding his own this year against the red tractors in the class of light hot farm in Ky. I seen couple 706 for sale recently that fits this class with a little work if they leave class at 6500lbs for next year. |
