Binder 400 series. Wet or dry? August 12, 2019 06:04PM
I am going to build a 466ci diesel to Badger State class. Pros and cons of building a dry engine?

Pro-no risk of water in oil or oil in water, saves the bearings if the head gasket were to blow during the run

Con-if you have to pull twice its harder to cool the motor down so you'llt lose some performance

I went dry block a couple years ago, it was a good choice. Alot less to worry about and alot less maintenance/moving parts to have to deal with

It is actually better not to fill the block or head.

By not filling it allows for expansion and contraction and lowers the risk of cracking (at least what I have been told)
