Try this

I would recommend between 350 to 450cc of fuel and somewhere between 26 to 30 btdc injection timing. The 3x3 is gonna be hard to stay on top of without water. Keep an eye on your egts. Or you'll be melting down the turbine wheel in the turbo. Not sure what class you are running? Maybe a smaller turbo may serve you better? |

Can you get smaller exhaust housings for that turbo or is that the smallest they make? |

To my knowledge, the 1.01 is the tightest housing they have for the gt42 |

FVP makes tighter housings than the 1.01 for the GT42&45. They machine borg warner housings to get down to a .90A/r. 3x3 will be very hard to run at 3000rpm with out water. Also going to take a decent amount of fuel to run on the big end. And timing and all of these variables are going to depend on intake, cam and compression etc. |

I had same engine & fuel with an S300, 550cc ran very well. I'd guess 650 plus? Good luck! |

I was thinking 35 degrees and 600,700, cc fuel . what rpm is needed to keep turbo lite? will the 90 housing help with small cubes or 3200 rpm, thanks |

I have a 90 housing for gt42 that’s Hart’s machined to for if your interested
Works really good at 3000 rpm and had it on a ford 585 690 8196 |

35 degrees will be to much timing for 3000rpm. It will likely run better at 28-30. Your best option may be a 2.8 gt42 or 45 or a s300 based unit. Which also depends on your cam, manifolds, head etc. With no water injection its going to be tough of the engine and the turbine wheel. You will likely see 1800 degrees egt and flame. |

Matt, where do you pull at, do you have any head work done, how big of a turbo will a stock head support, mine seems to (surge, stall, backup ) 50/60 lbs boost, smooth bore. Thanks |

Eastern PA, but haven't ran it in 6 years. Just cleaned up intake ports, nothing professionally flowed. Please detail your "surge, stall, backup". Thanks. |

I had the same exact setup. Very hard to keep lit. Melted a few turbos before I put water injection in. After a while I switched to an S400 and couldn’t keep that lit either. Better off going smaller |
