KITPA 11,000 altered farm class ideas
|

I would like to put a tractor together for this class and looking for ideas I would like to run a Massey because I have the tractor already but with the 2.6 turbo rule and the 2600 rpm rule for the big motors I know it’s not practical
Does anyone on here run this class to give an idea of how hard guys are running and what kind of ground speed Any videos? Let’s keep this positive and not an argument just looking for information Thanks Bryan 937-215-7188 |

There are several videos on KITPA Facebook page of this class. Also it's a 2.3 turbo rule and not 2.6. I think top mph is 27or 28 mph. Hope this helps. |

Want to see
|
I want to see a 2.3 turbo setup run 27 mph with a sled hooked behind it! Must have sled set really super light and a slow gear on transfer box! You might hit mid to upper teens but still gonna fall hard on big end. Especially at over 11000 lbs. Been around a long time, I have to see that with my own eyes. There's a lot of smoke blowing that goes on! Just saying. |
Re: KITPA 11,000 altered farm class ideas

Maybe 10 mph with a 2.3 turbo!!!!! |

Illini state pullers are running road gear in the 2 hot to farm class with a box s300 which is 2.33 inlet |

Must be a keyboard puller. If you dont know what your talking about keep you mouth shut. Or put your name and number on here and I will send you a video. Everyone in the class is at least at 23 fo 28, 29 mph. |

Post video! 2.3 turbo, 2600 rpm, 11,000 lb. 466ci? I don’t see how I’ve been pulling over 40 years |

Please do post Jason Smith! It sounds like you guys run really strong! You and your group should go whip up on the Glenford boys at the Glenford Lions club pulls this summer. I dont think they could hang with you folks! Please post videos! |

Pull fan, there are no rules at glenford, it’s basically a run what ya brung type of event, with the exception to the to hot to farm and they are 2.7 x 3 turbo. |
Re: KITPA 11,000 altered farm class ideas

Same Here
|
Same here....I've got a big cube IH with a 3.0 turbo and theres no way I could run 28-29 MPH at 11,000 lbs..I could at 9000 lbs.... |
Re: KITPA 11,000 altered farm class ideas

Look here
|
Go your google bar and type in 12,000 farmstock tractors osgood Indiana 2016. The only IH in that class ran 27 mph that nite. He was teched and measured several time that year with a 2.3 Switzerland turbo. Yes the sled looks to be set light to let them get up and run. But notice the torque these guys have at t he end of the track. It’s possible, and they weighed 12,000 that year. With turbo and pump develomesnts in the last couple years things are out of control. The 2.3 class In Illinois are running 2.3 with rotor pumps at 12k in two teeth over road gear. You have to get hooked up with the right parts to do this. But possible. |

Wow! Like I said before take them to Glenford this summer and put a whopping on those guys. I dont think they could hold a candle to those 2.3 guys. |
Re: KITPA 11,000 altered farm class ideas

2-teeth over road gear at 2,600 rpm won’t put your ground speed down the track at 28 mph! ! Sorry but I’m sure they run good ! |

I'm not saying they all run 28 or 29 mph but there are 3 or 4 that push that every night out depending on track conditions. I'm work on uploading a couple videos to you tube |

I saw 21- big difference from 28 29 so much difference from one track and sled from one day or night to the next |

8910 in that second video you can plainly see one of them had a top speed of 24.9. The first hook looked to be about the same but you couldn't see the speed sign.
That sled is set for max speed too if you watch it. The pan is up until the box tops. They wouldn't go that fast on other sleds |

IPA has a 12500 farmstock class with factory make and model pump for tractor 2750 rpm with a 2.3 turbo. Very tough class with several good running tractors. There is ih and deere tractors running 24-28mph all the time. Some of the IH are running 2-3 gears over road gear and spinning them out at the end. |

Not everyone runs 27 or 28 but the top ones in the class will run anywhere from 26 to 29 on any given night. |

I would love to look at the dyno sheets for these tractors! I ran a box 3lm class this last year at 8500# and I am here to tell you that no one in the class could carry road gear. I spent plenty of time on dyno to find all the power that I could too. I’m not saying that you are lying, just saying none of the sleds we pulled would let that happen. |

Big difference between 2.3 inlet turbo and out of the box 2.3 3lm. Could be as much as a 4k or 400hp difference between the two. |

My Opinion
|
Lots of it must be the tracks and the sleds.....How long is the sled chain? Are they all 466's? In my area the 9000-9500 Pro Fields do good to hit 28-30 MPH and some snuff at the end of the run..I've seen several tracks where none of them spun out..They are 466's running at 3000 rpms with a 3.0 inlet..Most dyno at 1100-1200 horsepower..In my area it would take 1400-1500 horsepower to run 28 MPH at 11,000 or 12,500 lbs..I realize that things can be different in other areas but come to my area and those tractors will do good to hit 20-25 MPH and lots will snuff.... |

White270 it’s been done several times running farmstock over 25 mph lot of Ipa tractors can do it. A ih 1466 2750 rpm (probably under 2750 as they are dq over 2751)706 rearend 2 over road gear on 20.8 will run 27.9mph pulling a sled |

The tough running ITPA/IPA tractors have a 2.3" inlet, but the turbo itself is unlimited I believe. I think they just have to slug them down, so saying a 2.3 class is misleading, makes everyone think it's a 3LM class. The ISP class mentioned above is Box Stock S300 which has a wheel diameter of 2.36" but the opening is actually 2.41". As Jake said above, our isp too hots run in the 22-25 mph range, 466's at 3000 rpm limit, A pumps. |

Too many variables to even compare, - rotten apples to fresh peaches, means nothing,Iv'e gone 14 plus one pull, next day different everything can only make low 9's. |

4010 puller, from what these 2.3 tractors are doing, I don't think ANY of the tractors at Glenford want any of what they got! These 2.3 units would even put it on most of the light pros as well! Just my own opinion from observations. |

Glenford does not have a strong showing of light pro tractors. The 2 hot 2 farm and farm stock 3000 tractors look to be better than most of the light pros that show up. Just saying what I see in my opinion. That's all. These 2.3 tractors are hitting higher speeds than what are typically seen at any of the Glenford classes. |

What classes do they run at ft recovery? I'd like to go watch. When is it? By the way if my memory serves me right. Some of the 2 hot 2 farm guys did jump into the light pro class Last year. I think a 706 might have won it. As I said before not a big light pro turnout. So the lesser tractors have a good chance of getting a good place in the class. |

Actually one of the 3000 rpm John Deeres made an exhibition run against the light pros this past year and put like 40 or more feet on the best light pro in the class. That's a fact! Look up the results. |

I stand corrected. It was a 856 that won the light pro class and the exhibition run was in the 2 hot 2 farm class. |

I never said these lesser tractors would run against the NTPA light pro's. I was only stating that they would run with the ones that typically show up at Glenford. Again if you look at the Glenford website you will see what I'm saying. That's all I was saying. What do they run at ft recovery? Again I would like to go watch. |

This class is a SBJD class. To which the top 2 or 3 "4440/4255 decal" tractors run the faster 4010 finals, likely 640ci riverside engines, and a shot of water. No one has checked for cubes, and they're not open to new idea's to help grow the class.
FWIW: The sleds in this area are "drag race" sleds, not lugging sleds. The ground speed (ACCELERATION) is the key to winning down here as the pan drops at 300ft, and it's all about basic physics (FORCE) at that point since the weight (MASS) of the tractor(s) are equal - 11,500. These winning small block tractors are set up correctly for this class - which is why they don't want to change. Overall, it works great if you want to see the same 2-3 guys in winners circle, rather than make it competitive and "fun". |

If I remember right, motors over 480 CI will be limited to 2800 rpm this year. |

he is talking about the henry county Kentucky group of deeres. they build the rules to fit around their tractors. then they complain and wine and put no money up to have the deere and IH from Indiana teched numerous times which is found to be legal every time he puts 20 foot on them. if I were the ol boy from Indiana id be mad because he gets no protest money for being teched at these pulls. he could make more money in protest fees then he could in prize money lol |

Sounds to me like they are trying to run him off. I disagree with the checking the tractor that wins ever time or at committees decision at a pull. Central Ohio does this same thing. If you ask me the committee should put up the protest money as well as anyone else who decides to ha e a particular tractor he led just because. This kind of defeats the purpose and reason to have a protest clause in the rule book. Again as I saw in another post, people acting like the Dems against Trump. Just because they got butt hurt and have yet to recover. Lol |
