billet cranks: can a billet crank be stroked

I have a 6 inch billet crank; looking at stroking to 6.25. Can the billets be welded and turned the same as the cast cranks? Thanks for any assistance. |

If it’s a 4340 crank that’s not to hard you can anneal weld retemper and re grind to make it straight again. If it’s a crank that has been nitrided the welding will destroy the micro layer of high hardness. |

Crank is a hyper max currently with Std/Std bearing. |

It can be done if it is nitrided that would have to be ground out first out of all rod journals before welding. Then weld and offset the stoke then renitrided. |
