354 perkins

Massey question

Thinking about converting a 354 perkins to alky to go in llss class. Question has anyone done this? 2 with an 1100 rearend would it even be possible to get it light enough? |

I believe Prewitt's in KY for years has pulled what you are suggesting. There is a Prewitt that sometimes makes a comment on this site. Try the pulloff.com 'search', as I think he lists his contact info, when he does post. |

best to use the 1006 perkins engine. The block is stronger and the heads flow better than 354 heads even if its 7 port or 12 port. And it will bolt right up to the 1100 bell housing but you will have to move the starter to clear the oil cooler on the 1006
