Terrible class,ugh.open antique 6000 lbs,had 15 +/- entries,fastest tr was 24.7 mph,slowest was 1.4 mph,just terrible.
There was a case 600 driven by pete mcintyre, which was the winner at 268 ft,2nd was 211,the case block (the rear was visible, and oil pan too ) sure looked like a 855 cummins with a 2 inch adapter to bell housing..lots of talk about it being a 855 too.runs very strong,on alky.anyone know or seen it b4 ?? |

1- If that class was so bad where was your open antique to make show better?
2- It was a open class who gives a damn what engine it has... |

If the fastest was 24.7, but the winner was only at 268, I'd say the sled setting was not good.

I was there too,the stock classes 5/8 mph were ok.if I remember right 210 woulda won the 5 mph,and probably got 2in the other 2.the hotrod v8s,I enjoyed better at 7200 rpm instead of the old 6000 rpm of last year.looked and soundedbetter, even think an 8000 rpm small block from central ohio got 3rd.id agree with the open antique with tractors with 12 inch wide back tires just shouldnt be in any open class.it simply dilutes the class, |

I have seen tractor‘s at other pulls in the open antique class
That are very comparable to that case that open class. Seems to be the norm everywhere else. What makes Carroll Fair any different? |

Under that thought process every hotrod 6500 lb v8 could have hooked in the 6000 open class.they all had antique tractor rears and sheetmetal.a 4 valve semi engine shouldnt be in any antique open class.perfect way to discourage guys from participating in that type of class |

Well Under that same thought process I’ve seen six cylinder open antique tractors beat 20 out of 23 V-8 in one class before they ain’t all that |

Years ago here in Missouri the V8 guys in our club begged and begged one of the open antique guys to hook their class. The antique made the V8 tractors look bad! Then the excuses started flying, like "he's got more cubic inches than us". I don't remember the rest of the excuses, but there was a lot of whining after all the dust settled. |

I've seen the c.o.t.p.a.natural as beat the v8s too.wonder if the case really had a 855 cummins, like the previous poster said it didnt look like a case pan at all, looked quite a bit longer.it did run very well |
