Well i see the Light unlimited is about dead with just 2 hooks in 2022, both at BG. what a shame. had potential if only the weight would of been 5,200 at the start.....

Re: Lt unlimited December 07, 2021 03:04PM
6000 is the right weight. They just needed to drop off the unlimited part and make it a light modified class. That class would have taken off with the rules as single hemi, twin Chevy, single Allison, one or 2 turbines depending on the size. My single engine with a Allison weighs more than 5200 without the driver lol

Re: Lt unlimited December 07, 2021 03:50PM
I have zero interest in watching any mod class with 1 hemi on ANY level, let alone GN!!

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 12:19AM
Did Tomah drop them, to bring the Super Stocks back?

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 01:47AM
Yes they did.

I would enjoy watching watching a class of mods with one hemi especially if there were other combinations in the class like as what Lex560r said. This class could be pretty neat and actually half way practical for someone who wants to pull a mod to be able to without having to build one with 4 hemis. As a promoter of a PPL pull i wish PPL would have this class, I'd have them booked for atleast 2 sessions.

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 01:46AM
All 4 It, ITPA (Illinois) has that class. I find it interesing to watch. Single supercharged V8 versus turbine vs. Allison. I believe it is 5800.

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 04:28AM
Where are you guys seeing the schedule at? I don't see a 2022 schedule on NTPA's website.

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 05:16AM
Guess you need to know the right people! Just messing with you, here you go!

So let me get this straight, the NTPA removed the 2 engine limits for the class and now they have two (2) hooks for 2022. Something doesn't make any sense here. Two hooks a season is not a points class it's called an "exhibition " class.

And, this also screws over the light unlimited pullers who were already running points. some of them don't even run mods or above. what are they supposed to do now?

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 07:56AM
we also need to remember that this is a "tentative" schedule.

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 08:09AM
There were 6 tractors that ran the class for points in 2021. Every one ran another class during the '21 outside of Light Unlimited. Bollinger ran Unlimited, Corzine ran Unlimited and Modified, Wayson ran Modified, Theobold's ran Unlimited, Gibson ran Modified and Schoenemann ran Region II Modified.

I believe that the NTPA Lt. UNLIMITED Mod can be used a tool for how not to write rules.

WHEN THERE IS/WAS NO NEED FOR A THIRD MOD CLASS IT ENDS UP DYING! THATS HOW IT WORKS!

Re: Lt unlimited December 08, 2021 08:59AM
Technically its the 4 Mod tractor class (counting the Mini Rods).

Re: Lt unlimited December 09, 2021 04:17AM
Ok Mr. Technical?

there was a 5000 mod in the 90s for ntpa, and that didn't die for its time. It lasted longer than the light unlimiteds now. so don't say it's because of making a third class, but instead, promoters didn't schedule that class for that pull.

Thank you! Will Tomah jump back up to a Super National? Will Rockwell be bumped to SN as well?

Re: Lt unlimited December 09, 2021 04:33AM
I believe the answer is yes, both will be Super Nationals this year along with Chapel Hill and Bowling Green.

Re: Lt unlimited December 09, 2021 10:21AM
And no Grand National in Mt. Sterling or Salem. Rockwell got their dates, will be 2 day GN this year and 5 session Super National in 2023.

Re: Lt unlimited December 09, 2021 11:59AM
Hadn't Mt. Sterling changed to a Champions Tour sanction before the Rockwell change of date?

Re: Lt unlimited December 10, 2021 02:04AM
No Thursday night show? Will they replace that with a Friday afternoon show? I really liked the 4 session setup they had last year.

Re: Lt unlimited December 10, 2021 02:15AM
Rockwell is still 3 days and an SN for '22 not '23.
