Cummins 5.9 Sleeve Repair

We are running a 5.9 Cummins diesel in our pulling tractor and have burnt a piston. I believe the bore damage is too severe for an overbore, is a sleeve repair a good approach?
Any personal experience with a sleeve repair in a Cummins 5.9? Thanks |

Nothing wrong with it, it's been done many times. If burning a piston is a potential repeat problem you may have, you could have all 6 holes done with snug fit flanged sleeves to make future repairs quick and easy. |

Thanks, after looking at the cylinder bore in the block that burnt and the rest of the cylinders, I am going to use a different block. |
