3LM-299 VS 3LM-33 How do they compare? July 08, 2023 07:26AM
I’ve searched all over online and cannot find measurements for these two turbos. I have a 3LM-299 and can measure it, but cannot find the measurements for a 3LM-33. I am planning to put one of them on a 4430 (out of field puller) with stock fuel pump and a few turns on the screw. Of course it’s too late to call any shops till Monday. If the 3LM-299 will work then I can bolt it on today and keep making progress. But if the 3LM-33 is a better option then I will get one on order.

Following up in case somebody needs this info in the future. 3LM-299 is about a 1.9” inlet and the 3LM-33 is about 2.03” inlet.

I had a 3lm 33 on a 4430 it ran ok in farmstock with 300 cc of fuel . How is availability on them? I saw where fair valley had offered them on their website with cast or billet compressor wheel. I was thinking the inlet was more around 2 1/4”….

Guenther Heritage Diesel Injection in Illinois can get them. He said they were backordered for several years though and availability just opened up recently.

I just ordered another one for restock, and the warehouse had a few left. The inlet of that turbo is 2.05". Any other sized inlet is a custom modified turbo, that would be much more expensive. Thanks for your business Jerry!

It looks like the 3lm 33 has the inlet option of 2.05 or 2.3” per fair valley diesels website
