? for NTPA pullers July 25, 2023 01:04AM
The thread about GN pre-entry has a link to the new registration site. Do pullers have a way of seeing who has pre-entered for an event?

Re: ? for NTPA pullers July 25, 2023 02:33AM
I haven't been able to figure out how to do the pre-entry let alone look at the list of entry's. I'll admit though that I'm pretty computer illiterate, I tried last night and seem to be missing something. I'm going to give it another try today, wish me luck so that I don't destroy my device of choice for the job! LOL

With a little coaching I got though the online entry, it was relatively painless once I was told how to get past my one roadblock. To answer your original question as far as I could tell there is no lineup available to look at.

It will be interesting to see if someone shows up at the Fort on pull day without preregistering if they can enter to compete.

Example of NTPA questionable decision making? July 25, 2023 03:37PM
The GN pre registration is a good idea, especially if they have the functionality of NHRA's platform that shows the entries to the public in real time. It could help with everything from pit parking logistics to which classes to run on which track.

However, could somebody explain the logic in requiring this starting in the middle of the season? Somebody over there has challenges thinking common-sense things through. The correct answer is to implement this starting in 2024.

Prove me wrong.

I would call it a practice run. So everyone can try it and get used to it, then in 2024 everyone should know how it works.

t-puller is probably correct. The 'new' Pre-Regristration is likely a homegrown design by NTPA's staff member Dr. Jon Dunlap, whom is a numbers and computer systems specialist.
I hope that it proves to work a whole lot better than his redesign of '23 pull event results. Jon, please bring back your previous system, which worked fine and was user friendly unlike your new cobbled up pull results system.

The new one is just fine other than the main results page to find the results. The redesign is still just as easy to view. Also, a little patience and you'll see an even more user friendly system and design.

I used to think that until I downloaded the Outlaws app. It sets the standard for how to do it right. In order of best to worst for me is Outlaws, then PPL and last NTPA. I'm strictly talk web site user friendly.

You said, "strickly talk web site user friendly", but mentioned the Outlaw app. So are you comparing all the websites against each other, or the Outlaw app vs PPL's website vs. NTPA's website?

Brent, you right, I am blending two things together so I will be clear. The Outlaws web site is the best and the Outlaws app is the best tool for ease of use.

Brent, perhaps Jon's new results system works fine for a PC but it sure does not for a Mac with Safari. After finishing reviewing 1 event, it is not easy to get to another event, unlike Jon's 2 previous "results" systems.

Re: Example of NTPA questionable decision making? July 27, 2023 01:25PM
Dick, I am not sure what you find so hard with the NTPA site. I am relatively computer illiterate and I can "surf" it just fine even on my phone with my fat fingers.

Re: Example of NTPA questionable decision making? July 27, 2023 01:34PM
I really do not have a dog in this fight but from just a fan of pulling I do not like the way NTPA website is set up for results! I do agree with Dick on what he stated about Outlaws web site and App

I can't find the results from ppl on last nights pull. Not on the results page or live results. Anybody know

Goshen is on the results page.

Re: ? for NTPA pullers July 28, 2023 08:17AM
I would have to assume that the need for pre entry has to do with Pulling Bets so they can get the games/wagers up in plenty of time?

Re: ? for NTPA pullers July 28, 2023 08:40AM
Still can't results for the 27th

Re: ? for NTPA pullers July 28, 2023 09:24AM
Session 2 and 3 are incorrectly dated on the main results page. Once you open them it displays them correctly.

If I had to bet, this is related to the new sports betting app.
