P pump to a pump February 03, 2024 04:38AM
Going from p pump block to a pump. I got aluminum adapator I’m guessing you take the studs out of the block. What kind of bolt are u using to hold aluminum adapator to engine block. The heads have to be so small to clear the studs going into a pump. I tried a 12 point bolt and it’s still to tight. Any other options. My adapator didn’t come countersunk the 3/8 hole is .600 by .210 deep for the head and it got to be flush on top cause the a pump flange goes over the head. Thank you.

Could you use an Allen head bolt and machine it to fit?

Look into low profile socket head cap screws or button head cap screws.
I’ve done the same thing, but I always made them out of steel with counter sunk Allen head cap screws.
