466 stroker April 03, 2024 09:07AM
Looking to build a 700 ish cube 466. Will be naturally aspirated gasoline. Looking to either buy a old billet 6” crank and offset it or just weld up a stock one. Can you run 2.5” rod journals? 14:1 compression. Bore will be 4.875. Thoughts on the offset to 2.5 ?

I recommend doing a 5" bore and 6" stroke. That gives you 706+ cubic inches. That's easier done than trying to make longer stroke not to mention more parts are available for that setup.

Can you still run full water with 5”? I didn’t know 5 was even possible. Appreciate the info

Have a conversation with Chuck Lewis and Ed & Scott Shoobridge. They've both done them out to 900ci and would be good resources.

Brent Payne at Genes Machine in Hamilton Ohio I believe has done 5 inch bores of which I believe will need deck plated and curdled. I see no reason why you cannot run water. Brent can help you I'm sure. As for 900 inches in a 466 block, I'm sure as Cpr said, it can probably be done, however I am certain that it would be very exotic and I personally feel that reliability would suffer?
