Full Pull Live

Curious

Just curious if the the on-track announcer at Wellington has interviewed anyone before? His questions are very confusing?? I guess this is next level?? |

Other than Dan Mayer the pullers by far have been the best announcers. |

The format they had last year was far superior to this full pull live! The voice over announcing isn’t good at all. Can’t ever hear the equipment pulling. Sure hope it gets better. I cancelled it already. I’ll just wait for someone to post it on YouTube. There’s a lot better quality of videos on there than Full Pull is producing. |

Good Job

I personally think its been really good. Its also only getting better, they've made a lot of improvements as the year has gone on. As a puller I also enjoy being able to quickly look at my pass from multiple different angles too. People will bitch about anything though. |

We took it for a cpl of months. Unfortunately during the rain season so there were a bunch of cancelled shows. The biggest complaint was how quiet the announcers were during the broadcast. It seemed like there mics were always turned down to low. The pullers filling in were the best commentators other than the one broadcast we watched where Dan Mayer did the commentary. Dan's the best announcer. Incredible knowledge.
I always wondered why they just didn't patch in to the event announcers mics? Then they would have the live event feel. |

Totally agree! I also believe Jason and Pk have no business behind the Microphone. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/30/2024 01:02AM by Mark4470. |

Pk is horrible, not sure if he tries to hard or what but he’s always tongue tied and screwing names and info up. Jason has improved a lot and toned it down to some extent but for as long as he’s been around pulling still talks out of his ass too much. These guys need to learn that if they don’t know something not to say it instead of just making it up. We have the same problem with our announcers around here. You’d think they’re politicians as much as they lie to the public. I know it’s not an easy job and probably hard to find people to do it but just don’t get up and start jabbering about stuff when you obviously don’t have a clue about it. |

Please ditch the voice over announcing! Of the 2 broadcasts tonight, Wauseon was 100 times better than Canfield. Those announcers were dang good, by far better than anything they’ve tried! Plus you could actually hear the pull! Felt more like you are actually there watching! Dictionary Dan and Butch Jr don’t offer anything besides they’ve spent a lot of time collecting data from years past which is nice but don’t make you a good commentator! Plus they are biased as all get out! |

Mike, it really sounds like you have something against Dan and Jeremy. I’ve talked with a lot of pullers and fans over my years and when announcers get brought up one of the first names is Dan Mayer. Not only for his knowledge but his delivery. Such sounds like the young generation says You’re just a hater. |

I don’t hate them, I don’t even know them. Yes I don’t care for their announcing. That’s just my opinion sorry if it differs from yours and those you’ve talked with. My point was the voice over announcing is not good, it takes away from the show. The sound was considerably better on the other broadcast without it. |

Doing live streams myself (but mostly on YT for free) I very quickly had to learn, that pulls where we have the "on track announcer" only are hardly watched by the people online.
It takes a totally different information supply to an audience in the stands than to the people at home. We have A LOT of new viewers who just stumble over a live stream and since we also interact with them on the chat, we get A LOT of questions there, you wouldn't expect from people in the stands. This might not be so much so with the streams on FP as they are pay per view and don't get "random" new people there (who by the way make about 2/3rds of the viewers on our streams). However - it takes A LOT of interesting, informative and actually funny commenting to keep (especially the younger) people on your show and away from swiping to the next thing on their computer that gives them instant "thrill". A minute of "no comment" or simply only telling the name of the puller and his / her hometown is almost instant DEATH for a live stream. The other thing is: Don't start a live stream (on YT) with a view of the front of the sled for 20 min. If you are on air - either show a "will start soon" or, if nothing is happening yet, you have to really pour out information non stop. This is especially hard to do if events don't start on time (seriously - if you can't start an event on time, you have no business on live-TV). That's where you need good commentary guys, who are doing it for the people at home - or they will switch off. If you didn't manage to gain and keep a decent audience in the first 30 min - you might as well stop the stream (on YT) - it will just go down in the data grave of the internet. It is kinda sad things are this way, but the younger folks have a super short attention span and if they don't get instant and constant entertainment, they swipe... the full pull commentating is good, better than on track announcing, because the full pull people not once have said , where are my john deere fans or were are the IH fans, it is extremely ANNOYING TO HERE THAT NONSENSE CRAP every pass FFS, or the constant misinformation from local announcers |

A few thoughts on FullPull,
I think at times in this digital age we tend to expect miracles. I'm a pretty old guy and vividly remember as a kid having to wait months for the Puller magazine to come out to read the results of events as well as points standings. There came a guy about 20 years ago ( I'm totally guessing because I'm terrible with dates) called Pulltracker that would go on line to give full results of any event that he attended. As a matter of fact he was the go to guy last night to verify the two points titles that were up for grabs in Canton,OH. Jon Dunlap is his name and in my opinion he got the ball rolling and revolutionized pulling results getting onto our devices faster and faster to the point of instantaneous. His hobby turned into a career at NTPA. As I look back at how things used to be I'm thankful even if I have to wait a whole day to see results. Full Pull love them or hate them have taken the whole on site pulling coverage to a new level. Is it perfect no, is it better than anything we've seen? Jason and PK have been getting a lot of negative feedback as has some of the production issues. I think Jason and PK both both have so much passion for the sport that they tend to get overly excited as their brains are going a hundred miles per hour with the things they want to have happen. Dealing with technical issues such as wireless connections and not having adequate WiFi adds to the difficulty of what they are doing. I sat in for one session at BG and was impressed with all that was going on in the production trailer as well as on the track with personal and equipment. I was in the booth with Bert having no idea what they needed from me and they calmly got me through the process. I enjoyed being a part of the broadcast as well as learning about how things were done. I have no idea of how I came across ( I told then if I was embarrassing myself or them to just kick me out and there would be no hard feelings) but just being a part of instant coverage of the biggest pull in the country rather than waiting months to read the results was enough for me. Hopefully some young pulling enthusiasts like I was back in the early seventies will be inspired to get involved in our sport after watching one of these brodcast. Jon,PK,Jason and many others are dragging us old folks into the future whether we like or not...I personally am glad they are. Todd Feiss AKA S'no Farmer |

I'm grateful for the Full Pull team and the work they've put into these broadcasts. I've watched some portion of every pull this summer and I'm not sure how anybody could watch and not think the overall product has gotten better every week.
As far as the announcing goes I think they've heard the feedback and that's why we've not got Dan and why they bring pullers into the booth frequently. They've heard the feedback here and have adjusted accordingly. Instead of complaining about some early issues this summer I applaud them for their continued improvement and willingness to accept feedback! |

I don't know the other two but I do know PK. Phillip Kelley, he pulls a Super Farm called Red Blooded Binder from western PA. He is the NTPA Super Farm committee chairman, from what I've seen having been a committee chairman myself he does a very good and thorough job in that position. In his real job he is a camera operator for TV broadcast for the NFL as well as NASCAR so he has a good background to have input for the pulling broadcast. If he has one fault it is that he is a bit over the top with enthusiasm, not a bad problem to have.

They all do a better job than I could do. Just happy to have this available. Sure some guys are a little more comfortable talking on the mic and others are more informed about some of the different classes. It is what it is and they have come a long ways and try to fix the issues that come up. Seems like most people will complain about anything, could give them a free cold beer and they'd complain it was the wrong brand. |

I watched Saturday night and thought this was the best broadcast of the year. Dan and Jeremy were entertaining & informative and Krista Voda was a great addition to the show. Great job! |
