Wednesday Prostock Class Why No Pulloff Politics

OK, I’m just gonna throw something out there and everybody can rag on me and say that I have sour grapes because international didn’t win and that’s fine. But why wasn’t there a pull off in the pro stock class? Tim Cain stuck it in the sand and didn’t stick it in the sand a little bit that was with authority. Then during the whole class a full pull line is never set, but I am sitting there thinking OK the next tractor that matches the 246 feet that Tim Cain set there is going to be a pull off then the tinker toy goes 248 feet and he is declared the winner. If you watch the video, Tim Cain backed out of it because he didn’t wanna tear something up and figured he was in the sand comfortably. Then, if you look over at the winners area, he had the side shields off, looking like he was preparing to come back when Masterson ran the first thing the announcer says is well there wasn’t anybody who didn’t think that was gonna happen. The bias to that tractor is unbelievable at that event. If you wanna say, Prostocks are not capable of coming back for a pull off. That is ridiculous because one year ago at the duel of the fuel, the exact same set of circumstances happen and all three tractors came back for the pull off even Colin Ross, who was very hot as he ran also near the end of the class came back For the pull off. It just seems like they have a vested interest in making sure that the masterson we’re gonna be the winner tonight. And if you listen to Tim Cain‘s interview at the end of the show, he actually had a comment about losing to tinker toy again. Now would Tim Cain have won I don’t know if he would’ve or not but I sure do think everybody had a right to find out and if we get to the finals in that same thing happens, that is really BS. If you are thinking there shouldn’t be pull-off in that class anymore Then get rid of the sand pile and set the sled to stop everybody at 230 feet and the problem is solved. |

Winning the wednesday night pro stock class means nothing. The whole point is to qualify for Saturday. Both tractors did that. So why bother with a pull off?
I would hope under similar circumstances theyd have a pull off Saturday. But I doubt either guy wanted to run again last night for no real reason. There is no check, no trophy, nothing for winning Wednesday night. |

i couldn't disagree more brandon, as far as practical goes i understand what you are relaying, but if i have the chance to win a session at the farm show then whoever it is better get ready to tee it up for another pass, i still remember roberts tearing a head up in a 6 way pulloff and taking one off measels tractor to run saturday night |

Why don’t we keep them out of the sand to start with. They should have reset Thursday night after Mettings hook.
The sand pile should not dictate the outcome of a tractor pull. Rusty Oeth Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/14/2025 12:52AM by Johndeere9610. |

Yes I agree with John Deere 9610! Smucker and others got screwed because they kept moving the bar of a full pull!! Nowhere else in the pulling world do they set a full pull mark after the first tractor hooks and THEN!!! Keep moving the bar as the class progresses even further!!! What a joke of a pull where this is supposed to be a prestigious event!!! Again, if a tractor even touches the sand it should be a full pull!! Otherwise set the sled to stop the majority below 230 feet. Any interference in the pulling vehicle should not be a part of determining a winner. You must destroy your million dollar rig just t9 get 8nto a pulloff that is constantly a moving bar!! Again, WHAT A JOKE!! |

Full pull should’ve been set with cain wednesday night. He could’ve beat mastersons in the end. He let off right away when red flagged, folz didnt so he got the extra footage. Last night was a good battle. In my opinion sled should be set a little heavier then anyone making it in the sand automatic pulloff. If you refuse to pulloff you lose your spot in the finals. That can be done easily. |

I like pulloffs (I think they benefit the sport for multiple reasons) but forcing someone to pulloff won't work. Pullers that dont want to pulloff could just fake being broke. You cant force them. There's also the fact that they could actually be broke or they might have a concern and they arent sure if they're broke. Kicking them out of the finals doesn't seem fair. Setting the "full pull" mark @ 247' deep in the sand is ignorant as hell & a poor decision by the pull committee! I wana see every tractor/truck go to the beach, but making a driver "bury" their vehicle that deep is a lil insane! |

This thread was posted to complain about Tim Cain not getting a pulloff against Daryl Folz and Tinker Toy which was not really a controversy.
But the real controversy is that Kevin Schmucker buried his tractor in the sand last night and he was left out of the pulloff because for whatever reason the farm show decided he needed to have gone a foot further. That was ridiculous. I'd be pretty hot if I were him. He lost a potential spot in the finals over that decision. |

It baffles me every year why 244 or 245 isn't the full pull mark. The length of the track hasn't changed. |

Years ago I remember watching trackside officials keep urging LSS to get deeper and deeper in the sand pile.
I said then, this is ridiculous, someone is going to get hurt. They need to set a finish line. |

Totally agree there is a concern with safety for the driver and a concern with damaging the frame of these vehicles. At least in the pro stock class it seems a full pull should be like 244-245 to be fair to drivers and keep people safe. Basically if you touch the sand you're in the pull off. |

Tim Cain… go back to 5.0
|
Just cause tinker toy puts a whooping on your international doesn’t mean you gotta have a pull off. Match the horse power and driver… then we’ll talk. |

Both are great

Dude…. They are both good friends…? Both families are great people. Tim Cain let off and tinker toy did not. Nothing wrong with either. They both had great runs and I’m happy for them both! |

Witt screwed that class up big time by NOT resetting the sled after Mettings test pull. End of story. You don`t do pulloffs after the guys are deep into the sand and have sand in the tractors as well. Short tracks are a bitch, but the need to keep them out of the darn sand!!! |

We are witnessing the twilight hours of John Deere dominating the pro stock class and I’m loving every minute of it ! It’s become a reality but unfortunately it will take a lifetime for the green guys to shut their mouths. |

Deere engines only won 3 hooks all weekend! Pretty sad when a 8.3 Cummins wins almost as many hooks! Miles wasn’t liking it much either. Surprised Mayer was bragging it as much as he was! |

Team One, here's your update on The Red Gambler and Tim Cain! The Red Gambler is a "Hotrod" with plenty under the hood and Tim's driving skills are on cue of what years of experience reading the track and driving his "Hotrod" should be! The "Old Man" took em to school and 2.95 inches from winning!! Congratulations to Rhett, Mr. Cain and Mr Norton on their great finishes. Tim's run reminded me of Mr. Don Masterson a few years back being the last hook in the finals on Saturday night. He picked a line on the track and took to boys to school for the win!! Never count out the "Old Men"! |

They only reason the Toy went further is because he squared up on the hole Cain's tractor plugged out. If The toy had hit the sand anywhere else, he'd probably been 2nd place. I do agree that 245 should be a FP. If Witt had to pay for all the chit that sand messes up every year this wouldn't even be a discussion. |

Remember a long time ago when they had a chalk line across the track marking full pull? If the front of the sled passed it then full pull. The pull has evolved now to where the crowd expects some tractors/trucks in the sand pile and short of insurance telling them to stay out of the sand I doubt that toothpaste will get stuffed back in the tube. |

Hitting the sand, landing in the beach is all for the fans! Having a true full pull mark would make more sense for the tractor and safety. Moving the full mark is as unfair as can be and one reason I quit going to another indoor pull. |
Re: Wednesday Prostock Class Why No Pulloff Politics

Yep

I've got a question and I don't think I've ever heard it asked before, is there anyway to move the sled farther back in the tunnel to make the track a lil longer, if the pulling vehicles launch was where the rear wheels on the sled are at now that would help considerably I would think. |

Problem in Louisville is the track is wider than the tunnel. So setting the sled right or left would be limited. |
