in stock form what should the 221 in my 460 turn for rpm's? also, can i convert the 221 to a 291 by changing the crank and sleeves and pistons? do i have to bore the block to accept the 291 sleeves? are their any clearance issues with the bigger crank? what piston kit would i use, maybe a piston kit for a 756, and would the 221 head work with the 291 pistons, thanks for any and all help! |

The 221 with the stock cam should turn around 4500 rpm with out the gov. Why not find a diff. block if you want more ci. The 301 engine is the way to go , with no sleeves to mess with . I have a 263 block with darton sleeves already at 3.9375 bore and and can be bored to 4.00 . The 3.9375 bore would put you at 320 ci with a stock crank and the 4.00 bore would put you at 330 ci with the stock crank . The block i have is for sale ! Phone 270-576-7308 |
