what do you have to do to a john deere 404 ci block to make 640 cubes? and how much does this cost? (block only) thank you |

It looks like 4 3/4" bore and 6" stroke to make 638, 4 7/8" bore and 5 3/4" stroke to make 644. Have block bored for bigger sleeves, custom pistons and maybe different rods, it would probably be a good idea to get rid of stock cam driven oil pump and run an external one. How new of a 404 block is it? What type of injection pump are you going to run? |

Can I ask you why would you screw around with a 404 block there is going to be some problems with oil gallys if your running a 404 out of a 4020 with a 55 eries head Or are you running something newer |

use a 466 crank driven pump block. your 404 will break and you have to start all over and spend all your money again. |
