I know this has been talked about before. Can a 466 deere run ok on 12-1 or 13-1 compression? Repalcing the original head with a 55 series. Have been told need to change pistons. We are just running farm stock or cheater farm stock as my neighbor calls it. We don't have any turbo limits. Thanks

It should run, but I'd say that's a little low for a single turbo.

That is too low for a single charger setup it will run but you are giving up a lot of torque.

What would the ideal compression ratio be for a single turbo, 3000 rpm class? What is the stock 55 series piston comp.

466 jd have the same pistion 30 40 50 series and 55

Re: compression February 04, 2010 02:36AM
the 55 and 60 pistons are different from the 40 and 50 pistons and a 30 piston is smaller

Re: compression February 04, 2010 03:02PM
WTF was that?

Re: compression February 05, 2010 01:56AM
cropdamage either asked or said all deere 466 pistons are the same, at least the way I read the post. So I just clarified, however the 30 series is a 404 and has a smaller piston and the 55 and 60 pistons are different. Sorry

ther are diff compression in them to . A 60 series is diff also than 50 and 55 series.
