SOMEBODY HAS SUGGESTED AFTERMARKET RING AND PINION
WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS ??
DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE GOOD OR BAD
THIS IS FOR A 3 ENG MOD

I know of some 3 engine mods running the imported ring and pinions.
I have used them in 2wd and 4wd applications. Saves some money, and the quality looks good, and I always get a good gear pattern.
Call and ask Bob Jostock, Joe Eder, Tim Engler, Scott Tedder, or even Ralph Banter.

Been through them all...
We used several aftermarket ones (not on purpose).
There is some pretty good ones made by "Raba" from the Czech Republic. We ran those for ever.
Raba is building A LOT of axles for all kinds of machinery for other, some very well known, companies.
Then whe changing ratio, we had some from India and China... difficult to adjust and never really quite right, but worked ok in the twin Allison and dirt cheap. Didn't work at all in the triple Allison.
So we then put "original Rockwell" into the triple, trying to fix the problem - didn't improve the situation at all. Basically blew them up every couple of runs.
We are now strictly running ring & pinions made in Italy and they are a piece of art compared to all the others we got before (cost a bunch more, too).
Different, better design - but they fit with some grinding. No more problems at all.
Lately we kept splitting the third members and had to go billet this winter.
Anyways - in a three engine mod and as long as you still get along with a "standard" Cat (or the even weaker Franklin ones) planetaries you should be fine with pretty much any R&P you get.
Once you start cracking the Cat planetaries and have improved those, the ring & pinion wil be the next weak link.
