NTPA Burst Panels May 25, 2010 02:28AM
How thick do my burst panels need to be for ntpa? I thought I read 1/8" steel. Can I use diamondplate?

Re: NTPA Burst Panels May 25, 2010 02:31AM
what guage steel is 1/8" also?

Re: NTPA Burst Panels May 25, 2010 03:00AM
1/8" Steel is 11 GA.

I have always understood you are supposed to use a proper SFI Burst Panel. You can buy them in a 3 pc kit from most people like Sassy .

You can find new ones on E-Bay as well.

Anodized Alum usually.

Thanks! Yeah they are the inner side shield burst panels on a SF tractor. Have to make some this week and dont have my rules with me right now... I wonder if you can use aluminum at a greater thickness? or just 1/8" steel

Re: NTPA Burst Panels May 25, 2010 03:29AM
Yeah, you can use aluminum, but I believe it has to be 1/4" thickness.......
