IH 466 3x4 Lim Pro Class Bounty
|
wondering
|
Is there any good running NON-IH tractors that would be willing to come pull in Missouri sometime in september if there was decent money to show up and win. Only requirement is to not be an IH and fit the IH 466 3" X 4" cIass rules. I am getting tired of seeing 10 of the same tractors go down the track. The only thing different is the driver and paint job. It gets a little monotanous. Surely somewhere out there is Deere or Ford that could do it. |
Why isn't there more color in the class?

Why isn't there more color in the class? Deere has a 466 motor, Ford has a 456 motor, Case has a 451 motor. So it's not like the cubes are putting them at a disadvantage.
Maybe the reason there is a red parade in this class is that IH is cheaper to buy and build with proven technology. But if that's the case, it doesn't matter how the rules are written, there will always be alot of red tractors in the class. |

problem is

Nobody has any pride anymore!! Plain and simple. The IH is a small block chevy of tractor pulling. If tractor pulling was a representative of the ag industry John Deere would be broke and IH would not have been sold out.. |

The reason there isn't as many Deers in there is because not everyone can pull with CLASS!!!! |

I have a blue one, would consider running out there for a couple hooks back to back. Only problem is I'm 540ci. |

You could have 2 nice hooks next weekend in northern mo and you would fit the rules as they allow 550 cubes. August 28th at stanberry, mo with nwmtpa and aug 29th New Market, IA with iamo. There would be plenty of ih's to spoil there as that is all there are. It would be great to see some color. The pulls would be relatively close in proximity too!! |

not quite

must have a 3x3 for northwest, and it is overcubed for iamo they are limited to 466. that being said there are some fords running in east central and itpa that are very tough! |

I think it is much harder to get a deere light enough to run at 8500lb. About the only Deeres that make those kind of weights factory are 4010's and 4020's and they don't really have the drivetrains to hold 1300hp. So you either have to spend a lot of money on trying to get a bigger Deere light enough, or on putting custom parts in the transmission just so you can pull one in the 8500lb class. You can get a IH as big as a 1466 down to 8500 pretty easy so you can spend your money on motor to make power with a IH vs trying to save weight just so you can get in the class with a Deere. Besides the IH engines seem to make hp pretty easy and the Deere's make torque so in general the Deere tractors seem more competitve the heavier they pull. Look at the 10500lb pro class its the exact opposite of the Pro-farm. |

I am sure these Ih boys in here on the east coast wouild love to send these blue ones out west for a couple of weeks. They should give the ih boys a fit out there. |

johndeere nut

The answer to your ? is easy older johndeere tractors still go to the field and keep on running plus you can stand to drive them. But all it takes is a trip to lemkes if you want a deere to clean house! |
