Grubby, It would be nice if even one thing you posted was true, but it's not. No need for liberal lies here.

If you're using the stock front bolster, you'll need to make spacers between the 66 series rails and the bolster, since the rails are wider. It does make bolting the engine easy, if using a normal 400 series front plate. The hood won't be long enough, but you can use a 560 hood, and trim a little off. Using the 06 rails will require the front plate to be narrowed and ground to fit.

No, I don't think there is enough room in the flywheel housing to handle the original diameter of the 966 flywheel. The spacer is needed to bring the flywheel/clutch back far enough to mate with the trans input shaft and pump/PTO drive.

Use a 966 (or similar) rear plate. The 966 flywheel will have to be machined to fit the 560 ring gear. The trans side of the ring gear needs to be 5/8" deeper into the flywheel than the 966 ring gear was. The 560 ring gear is thicker, so add that difference when machining the ring gear area. Have a 1 1/2" spacer made to go between the crankshaft and flywheel. Use a 966/986 (12") clutch. If you do

HX50 would work good. I used an HX52 on a similar setup, with a little bigger motor. I liked the 52 a lot. Came on strong at about 1800 RPM, and I never burned it up like I did my 3LM.

Stay as far away from Millennium and WorldWide (same company) as possible. I had one custom built for a cargo trailer, same tow vehicle and same load as the Haulmark I pulled for 5 years, heavier axles, bigger tires, stronger hitch, etc etc. and broke both frame rails in three months. They wouldn't do a thing for me, had to fix it myself. It wasn't the materials, it was sloppy workmansh

Just bought a 1370 today. They are a heavy pig, and the power shift is not a good idea for a puller. Would last forever in the field if maintained right, but you'll not be happy with it in a puller.

Get an 8 speed. No powershift. That means a 930, 1030, Some 970s and 1070s, or an 1175. 1175 is heavy. I just happen to have a straight stock 1030 for sale. Should be a bit under 9500lbs with no weights.

All 1370 were power shift, and not the best choice for a puller. For a gear drive, you will need an 1175, 970, or 1070. All 1175 were gear, and 970/1070 came either way. A 504 will fit in any of them. 1175 is heavier, but has a stronger trans/rear. Later 504 had big injectors, and are more common to modify.

I've been having fun with "Chris" for a few days, just leading him on. Told him I'd have to wait 30 days for his check to clear, and he still responded, saying it would only take 5 days. I am hesitant to give him my address, but would like to mess with him as much as I can. The scam was obvious from the first text. These guys need to study up on their English, but they are better than t

It would be fun to watch (and hear), but it would be way too dangerous for pulling. Nitro cars run 1000 ft in about 4 seconds, at over 300 mph. The motors are used up on each run, and at minimum, the heads and bearings are pulled after each pass. Pullers would have to make a lot less horsepower for the engine to survive for a whole pass, and if there's a pulloff, then what? Now if they did w

Depending on your rules, it would be the easiest and cheapest to poke a 451 or 504 in it. Around here, there's a 505" limit, and the year of the motor doesn't have to match the tractor.

If it doesn't say what engine the parts fit, assume it's IH. That will be the case most of the time, it seems. Popularity has it's advantages (or drawbacks).

Travis- I wanted to try a pair of 18.4-42 when I had my 1175, and never got to it. Seems speed is more important than traction at times, and the taller tire might give an edge in certain situations. Also, 18.4-42s are everywhere, and cheap. I happen to have a nice pair of Acuret radials that are a knock-off of the Powersavers, some say they are the same tire, that I would sell cheap, if you are i

You could just turn the pump down some at first, Travis. If I remember right, that pump was 25cc per turn (might have been per 1/2 turn)- it was on the build sheet. If you use the injectors you have, I would run a little more timing since it will take a little longer to inject the fuel. I ran it with stock lines at first, then .093 later. Made several changes at the time, so not sure if the bigge

Correction- The starter lined up (with the 560 ring gear in the 986 location) but the input shaft didn't make it to the input bearing. I sunk the gear another 5/8, and spaced the flywheel 1.5", and it worked great.

With a 7/8 spacer the clutch and starter needed another 5.8" to match up as factory. I've sold several of these spacers for the same swap. I bought the 7/8 spacer from Floyd, and called him when it didn't work. He said "yeah, you need to get a custom input, eliminate the hydraulics, etc etc. Not what I wanted to do, so I solved the problem.

I've done this swap too, with a 986 flywheel (machined for 560 ring gear) and a 400 series factory rear plate. The spacer for the flywheel needs to be 1.5", which is thicker than the rear plate. What this means is the plate would have to be thinner than zero to not use a spacer with a factory flywheel, unless you use a custom input shaft and throwout setup.

Global warming ironically can cause cooler winters because of the increase in ocean water evaporation due to ice melting. This disrupts the timing of snow an d earlier it snows the faster it cools and somehow messes up the Siberian high over Russia that apparently affects our winters.
