The name of the game is speed the fastest one down the track will probably always win.
But if you have a sled operator that has a setup for farm stock pulling then it's not a drag race to the pan drop. Make it pull hard out of the hole and the guys that want to run high gears will either roast the clutch or never light the charger under 3K RPM (which is more than plenty

IMO, a farmstock tractor turbo will not "go under." Turbo cavitation is usually never present on a tractor in the field and you can pull them down to a dead stop. It would seem that the "box stock" isn't so stock if it gets underneath of it and starts chirping. Usually that's too big of an A/R housing I thought.

what are the hotfarm rules around there? are there any websites that I can see the rules and schedules of these pulls? are there no "brush" pulls left in this area?

set up the sled for a tractor pull instead of a drag race and you won't have to worry about the big chargers either

anyone have a schedule for central/eastern Iowa and or western/northern Illinois farm stock pulls?
want to hit some local farm stock pulls with our 6030, it's our farm tractor so it's nothing special, just looks pretty, wanted to pull in some 14K and up classes for fun.

Seeing as how my right brake seemed to be either on or off even after the brake valve has been rebuilt, sounds like it'd be easier to look into converting unless I can figure out the sticking problem. I think its in the brake itself. thanks for the info!

Im looking into building an 806 altered farm puller. we run 3250 rpms. My two questions are: is there any advantage to switching to the disc brake conversions at this level, or wouldnt the stock brakes be adequit. And why do most guys make the conversion?
Also I am looking at removing the rear cast cover that houses the arms for the fast hitch/seat/ etc. Outside of one hydraulic line I see goi

our class you dont have to keep the stock tanks, and you have to run side panels. Are saying the skirts on the hood are too short from front to back, or the height? we are also required to run electric radiator fans due to the 3250 rpm limit. Im wondering where the extra two inches comes from, is it due to the adapter plate? I found a guy on here that can make the adapter plate, so the width wont

Im doing a similar project with an 806. So if you find a 666 front cover, are you still able to use the rear cover from the previous mentioned tractors? whats so different in the timing covers? just gathering info, thanks!

I know for converting an 806 to a dt Ill need the rear adapter plate from a 66 series through 88 series. My question, is it cheaper to go with a truck motor DT466, and just redo the front timing cover, or am I better off going with one out of a tractor that already has the front cover, and just get a 466 crank. Im building a altered farm limited to 3250 RPM so I was thinking of doing the overbore

Does anyone know if the adapter plate on the back of the gas motored tractors is the same as the 400 series diesels?

I was told that on some IH tractor rear ends, the axle shaft is hollow where the bull gear goes on, creating an obvious weak point. Is this true? I dont believe it will be an issue for a 9000 lbs altered farm stock, but just curious of the validity of this.

Does anyone know if there are any transmission/ ring and pinion differences in the gas and diesel versions of the 56/06 series IH tractors? I know the RPM rating on the engine is the same, horsepower is within 5 hp of each fuel type, and speed on gear selection is the same.

Thats what club Im going to run in is Darke County, and their rules are pretty well the same as Centrals. I used to pull antiques a few years in darke, but decided to wait a few years after i quit to see how the class paned out.

I was thinking of that set up. I wasnt looking to blow the doors off people out of the gate right away. Where would you suggest getting a p-pump from? The DT motors came with an MW pump, or should I stear clear of those?

Hi, Im an old antique puller, and am wanting to move up to a 9000 lbs alt farm stock tractor. I am wanting to go with an IH 06 or 56 series since all you see are 66's. My thought is to find one without a motor, then go to the local truck salvage yard and get a DT466 motor with an inline pump and go from there. I know I will need a minimum of pump work and 500 cubes to get started. So Im here
