At one time in the early to mid 2000s the Sussex County Farm Show had the most harsh and strict rules of anywhere in the east. in fact my son RJ was arrested by the local police because one of his track officials was wearing short pants. FPP had to undergo a complete insurance audit from the state safety inspector on the day prior to the pull. Things have definitely gone 'down hill'.

did not want to high jack the thread on purses with this ... BUT one of the true bargains in our business is the cost of a weight transfer machine for a pull. the promoter gets the sled and operator and scales and scraper blade and the cost of transportation from point A to point B. The sled may also bring the measuring device to the event. and the sled brings its own insurance. that sled and

Mod Turbo (Interstate Rules - East of the mountains) and Limited Pro Stock (USA-EAST rules - West of the mountains) are the SAME. 540 cubes with an A pump for both groups. Interstate does not allow the Super Farms into their class but USA-EAST welcomes Super Farm Tractors in theirs with an 8500 vs 9300 pound advantage to SF. There has been much discussion about 'after market heads' b

Pennsylvania is divided into two geographic areas - East of the mountains and West of the mountains. To get pullers from one side or the other to make the trek over the mountains on the PA Turnpike (really expensive with a hauler) or on I-80 (too far north) is like pulling teeth.

Keep in mind that the Jasper Engines sponsorship deal that Tom negotiated was the financial catalyst to move ATPA from a regional series to a national series. But Jasper wanted a wider geographic presence. So Tom (and Mike Chastain) met with Mike Hoff (Buck Motor Sports) and Rick Feicht (Full Pull Productions) in Dothan, Alabama in February (2001??) to finalize the ATPA coming east. This arran

When Fred Hildenbrand from Ruffsdale, PA ('Slow Walkin' John') and Stanley Auen from Saltsburg, PA ('Froggy') showed up with very similar John Deere Super Stock tractors that stretched the rules a bit while utilizing overhead cams ... many of the associations in the eastern US banned them for a while. The two tractors ran with USA-EAST in the famous "Smoker Series" for a

1. Pit Passes will create a definite additional revenue stream for the promoter.
2. Waiver forms WILL hold up in a court of law IF they are preserved properly. Been There .... Done That!!

Just for reference. On Saturday night the SRX circle track tour (Tony Stewart) at Sharon Speedway drew a SRO crowd and the FPP USA-EAST event at Raceway Seven drew a large crowd. Both of these events were in Northeast Ohio and both events experienced some rain from the same system that hit Norwalk earlier in the day. Tickets were $45 for the SRX event and sold out and tickets were $15.00 for t

Two comments.
1. Over 35 years as a promoter, I was involved in three lawsuits regarding injuries at pulls. Each one went before a judge and each one was 'thrown out' due to my ability to produce a signed waiver from the individual who was bringing the suit. Two of these were for tractor and truck pulls and one was for a demo derby. The waiver form does provide a space between th

The KEYSTONE STATE NATIONALS began many years ago when FPP was affiliated with NTPA and when their regional events were called 'state nationals'. At that time the Big Rigs were the only semi truck national point series operating in the US and the Brookville event was one of the pulls that showcased the class thus qualifying the pull as a 'nationals'. The name has stuck over

The "Black Sheep" Dodge had multiple chargers up until the major explosion and now with a new owner, it is unknown as to the current engine and/or set up. Many of the top Big Rigs will be at the Crawford County Fair in Meadville, PA on this Friday night. Also for many years the NTPA Grand National at Wellington, Ohio (also on Friday) featured the Super Semis. This is why the Sheid event was thin on semis over the years.
Look for another great field of semis on Saturday, September 4 at the Canfield Fair in Canfield, Ohio when the Lucas Oil Hot
