I have a fresh Cummins reman HX50 that Id part with if you are hunting something different. Youd need a different exhaust housing for your setup, but that would be a heck of a step up from your little 35.

Pardon my ignorance, but why do the half gears gain you 14-1500 hp in terms of strength. I have a 5000 rear out of a tractor that had a sos in it and am trying to figure out how best to mate it to a 6.6 block to run in 6000-6500 lb classes with 18.4 tire limitations... thoughts?

So, did the 5000's with the select-o-speed use the same rear end as the tractors with the straight 8 speed?

Throwing this back to the top one more time. Im looking for thumbs up or down for cryo treatment on rods/crank/gears/transmission shafts... If one process or the other is better, a little explanation would help. Ice Cold Puller- the number you listed is incorrect.

I have done some searches, and gained a little understanding of the processes, but which is better for connecting rods/gears/transmission shafts? Heard of some guys even cryo treating the whole block. Is there a general consensus on this? There is a shop doing cryogenic treatment fairly local to me, but dont want to want to waste my time and money if its not worth it.

Wanted more info on this topic. I found the 70 series tractors that you are referring to with the genesis, but not finding the cross over model that would have the factory plate that you referred to. Any guidance? I take it no-one would like that combo wearing TG sheet metal since the TG's were electronic?

So, to add another layer to the previous posts, nowhere do I find reference to fuel quantities or RPM. Aren't each of those going to carry weight in this discussion?

Pardon my ignorance, but why wont the 401 ag rods work? How are they different from a 456 rod with a 1.5" wristpin?

3000 RPM hot farm class pulling a race sled. 466 CI, P pumps, 2.5" slug in inlet with 20.8 rubber. I've been leaning toward lower compression ratios but I'm afraid that if it gets too low it wont keep the turbo lit when the sled hits. What are you all running in the 3000 rpm classes? Am i just splitting hairs, or is there anything to be gained by changing the compression?

Why would the 8.3 crank be better? I would have to stroke it to get to the 5.69" stroke of the 8.9 crank. Are they dimensionally different aside from stroke? Do you offset bore to compensate for the difference in bore spacing? Aren't the main journals bigger? Do you just line bore to account for that? What about durability- is this a good train of thought, or would I be better off just strok

Ive been searching for weeks, and coming up empty handed. Sorry if its already been covered. Im looking for info on what is required to put a cummins crank in a SBJD. Ive heard it can be done, but have not been able to find info on what it takes. Im looking at a 466 out of an 8820 combine and I was thinking about running the 8.9 crank in it. Will one of the later blocks be better to start with- 7
