It's my understanding you lose 40 some pounds if you go with external brakes with the aluminum hats.

466 and 7.6 are both 466 cubic inches, what they refer to as 466 is just older block that was in 40 series tractors ect, 7.6 is jd's newer block style. We run 466 ci, 3x4 turbo unlimited rpm's, with 1000+hp, and according to Phil at Riverside, no need to girdle with that setup. We ran wet block when we started and it was nothing but a pain. Knock out all your freeze plugs and run a dry

Big block is what came in 5020/6030 and such, the 531, 619 ci motors. Small block are your 404, 466, 7.6, 8.1 motors The big blocks look totally different than the small blocks, and would assume also that they are much heavier. I never have seen a big block apart, and someone else can probably answer this, but i assume the bolt pattern and everything else is different in that they wouldn't b

Yes, you definitely do not want to use the original motor in a 4010, so a gas would work. If I was you I would go to a junkyard and just buy a junked one from the bell housing back. Everything from there forward isn't usable unless you want the tin work. When we got our transmission we went to Roberts shop and put it together there with our housing, but that is just something you will have t

They use the existing Transmission housing and lower pinion shaft and shifting forks, and they replace everything else with straight cut gears and splined shafts. As someone stated above, you can use the 4020 pinion shaft in 4010 housing but it will take some machining. The benefit of doing that is the 4020 shaft has I believe 9 splines whereas the 4010 shaft has 6 splines were it mates up to the

Phil at Riverside knows his stuff. Great to deal with and very helpful. They don't have a website, but give him a call, it will be worth your time. And it you are buying a motor, make sure it has a crank driven oil pump and straight cut timing gears, it will save you alot of headaches and money down the road. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe both of these options are stand

Nope, I'll give you 2 cents. 1- it's Luebbering, not Lubbring, and 2- it's Smokin Stag, not Smokin Deere...lol. I don't pull the light class with Xcaliber or the outlaws, so it's not my business to criticize how they set their rules with co-sanctioning. I do wish they could get together on their rules if that is the direction the two organizations are heading, as they have

we run 24.5's, and yes, you get up and go. Biggest problem we have is staying off the wheeley bars since we normally run the 85 lim pro and can only put 250lb on the nose running in 6500lss. And I did not mean for this to turn this into a Hart's bashing thread. They have always worked with us and treated us fairly

Actually, there are some guys in Xcaliber in Missouri running harts 3x3 turbo instead of a 3x4 in the 8500 lim pro class, and winning. And according to Harts Diesel, their new 3x3 turbo puts 40 to 60 hp on their 3x4 turbo, so there is little, if any difference anymore

We have ran at 17.6 to 1 at 6500lb no problem with a 3x4 charger 466ci, unlimited rpm, just depends on the track.

To me, knowing I am covered by my associations insurance if far more important than prize money. I won't hook a non-sanctioned event for that reason even if the payback is higher.

I agree, I'm not arguing that a true farm stock 1066 won't get off the line and run 20 to 25 mph cause your talking around 120 hp. Just saying a tractor doesn't have to have even close to 800 hp to pull 20 mph if the sled operator wants to let them get up and run.

That's not necessarily true either , a good sled operator can let the lower horsepower classes get up and run and look good, and still stop them

The only two classes that had any changes up for a vote were the 6200 Super Street trucks and 5900 pro-field tractors. Not sure if they passed or not. They elected officers and board members first then did the individual class rule changes so not everyone would have to wait around while they discussed and voted on them, and I left before they were finished..

Well Mr "Platt" I happen to be a MMTTPA board member. And there were no rule changes even submitted for those three classes by any of the pullers, hence no changes. And if you want to bad mouth me and the rest of the pullers who keep a good organization going year after year, have the guts to sign your real name or come talk to me if you have a problem with the board, because I sure haven't

I have personally checked Chad in Mid Mo for putting a slug in to run the 8500 Limited Pro class. I don't run the pro-field class, so that is up to the clas

I found that when I was uploading video's for our organizations website and would receive video's from other people, I would have to convert it to an mpeg4 or similiar format to upload to you-tube or it would take forever, and I couldn't even edit the files until I converted them.
