Turn up the Rotary Pump
That video will give you the basics. They'll flow more fuel than you think. Add a fuel pin, bigger lift pump, bigger injectors, etc. and it will roll coal.

I only haul equipment owned by me (not for hire) and have to have an IFTA tag if I go out of state, or trip/fuel permits.

If you don't have an IFTA tag and aren't tagged as an rv you'll need fuel and trip permits. Don't forget your log book.

^^^ what he said. The lowest hp 5.9 in a vehicle that I was ever aware of was 165 hp, with torque still around 400 lb. feet, which will blow your gas engine out of the water. Also like JDGnut said they are easy to turn up. My wife could turn one up and she doesn't even know what a wrench is.

Lots of 5.9s had 545s behind them. The ones I've seen were newer and didn't have the VE pump, but they may be out there. Either way if you can find the engine you need all you'll need to do is find the adapter to get the trans to bolt up (adapter plate, flex plate, spacer, etc.) They're usually on ebay and other places that buy up vehicles that had them in it.

I'm not sure, I never have seen a picture of it before that I remember. Maybe some of the others will know?

I believe the Lustiks in PA have the Heartbreaker 3, which was the one that didn't have a weight transfer box. Would be interesting to see a picture of that sled.

in a truck, a stock fuel system is only capable of putting a little over 300 hp max to the ground, so a little over 300 at the flywheel.

not sure on the sheet metal rule, but the 830 was built up to 1960.
And after posting this I find some places that say '61. who knows.

In comparison to the 5.9/6.7 Cummins, the DT360 is a much beefier, stronger engine. It will hold the higher horsepower much better.

Like the others said about 20 an hour is all you can do. I've seen 25, but if you're averaging 20-22 an hour you're flying.

actually India is where most of it is going. their demand is decreasing and they're predicting scrap will go down some this year because of it.

My feeling is the opposite. Pro stocks are normally one of my favorite classes, but I actually get tired of watching them at Louisville. That's the thing I agree with Jake on the most, there's no reason to have 3 classes of them. I don't care if they add lim or light pro, just not three classes of Pro Stocks.

Jake, I feel like you hit the nail on the head. I agree with everything you said in the article.

Was able to get one at the Red Roof Inn. About 2 1/2 miles from the Expo Center, $120 a night - not bad for around there.

Federal laws don't require them to pass through, but each individual state is free to make it a law for them to cross if they want. Who knows what states require it though.

I agree, I love Pro Stocks but with such little color there are too many classes of them in Louisville.

Speed limit classes aren't the most fun to watch, but it really is the only way to completely level the playing field. You can limit through rules all you want, and money will always find a way around them.

DT-360 is a tough engine, quite a bit stouter than a 5.9 Cummins. Fuel and a turbo is all you need to get that power. However 600-1000 hp and still daily drive it won't be fun with a manual pump. you'll constantly be turning fuel and timing down to drive it down the road and back up for the pull.

if you're talking about the t.s. performance pull, they usually have 2 tracks and 2 lowry sleds, but trucks only. no tractors at all.

This same thing happened in '08. I saw diesel over $5. It will hurt pulling some, but it won't be the death of it. It didn't make a big difference 3 years ago.

Almost...all '94's had a turbo. But halfway through the '94 model year, all trucks with 5 speeds had the Power Stroke, but were still badged as just a turbo diesel.

hpop is high pressure oil pump. Those Powerstrokes used high pressure oil to push the fuel through the valve instead of high pressure fuel (fuel pressure runs <60 psi on these, oil pressure up around 3000 psi). The IPR is the injection pressure regulator which is located in the high pressure oil pump. It controls the pressure your pump puts out. An underperforming fuel or hpop can have dra

tire foam will take paint off of about anything that has a slick surface. you can spray paint a vehicle that is clearcoated and tire foam will take it right off.
